Montclair now ahead of New Jersey 21-20. UMHB now in control over ETBU.

St. Thomas has a 10-point lead late in the fourth.

Wabash could sneak into 10th, outsting Bethel. I have a feeling that even if Whitewater loses, they won't fall out of the Top 10. Oshkosh is a legit team and the Warhawks are on the road.

Looks like Chicago did beat Kenyon 41-17. NCAC 1-3 vs. UAA today.

Back from Hollett...here's what I saw today:

- I thought Denison started the game extremely well on offense.  Particularly Paulus.  He's a pretty good QB.  Delivered the ball accurately and on time...he really carved up the Wabash D in the first half.  His stats will show that he didn't throw anything downfield, but he had a very nice deep ball on the first drive that seemed to put Denison down to the 2 yard line, but the play was called back for an illegal block.  That was a big play...if that play stands and Denison punches it in, there's a TON of nervous energy in the stadium, Denison has tons of confidence, and who knows where the game goes from there.

- Wabash also started well on offense, and really played well on offense all day (492 yards of total offense will support that).  Wabash hit on a few big plays down the field but sputtered in the red zone in the first half.

- Then there was a halftime break and everything changed.  Wabash's defense stepped it up big time...forced a quick three and out from Denison, then go down the field and score (hitting big on a 3rd and 17 and a 3rd and 14 on the drive).  One more 3 and out, one more TD drive (this time scoring on Belton's 43 yard dash on 4th and 1) and now Denison is in a hole that forces them to get one dimensional...and that's the end of that.

- Chase Belton went bananas in the third quarter.  3rd quarter stat line: 6-8 on pass attempts, 126 yards, 2 TD....not done yet...5 rushes, 64 yards, 1 TD.  That'll do.

- I don't have a Cam Sobleski report today...Wabash didn't punt.  At all.

Next up is the long roadie out to Meadville.  The Gators will be on extra rest for that game.

14 days to Witt.  21 days to #OccupyDePauw.  Football season is fun.

Get to Hollett early on Nov 5.  Tailgate .  Be there or be square.  This is the Wabash - DePauw-esk - tailgate party and rev up time for the game.  Full stands and loud support ... send the Wit-bees home for the year.  OH ... YEAH.

Hopefully this is something to build on for DePauw.  Offense did look pretty sharp.  Kinda what I've been used to the past few years.  Passing game was in rhythm.  They were able to run it successfully.

Still a long way to go if they hope to make the Bell game worth the price of admission, though.

For shame Wes! A slow start doesn't mean the Bell game is not worth attending. Depauw could drop the whole season and there is still a possibility that Depauw can beat dabash. It's Monon Baby!

Oh I'll still be there.  Wabash can be beat.  It's no foregone conclusion.  Going to be an uphill battle, though. That's for certain.  I'll spend the money, I just hope I get a show worthy of my money.

Next week could be a big-time 'trap' game for Wabash. The Gators will no doubt have film of Oberlin's second half and Denison's first half. It's a long trip, and the Tiger / Tiger two-step awaits.

I do have faith in ER getting the team to focus. I don't think the defense will be the issue now that they've had two games without Scola and Hodges the Younger. It's about the offense, and if Belton can keep up the high level of play he displayed today, and if the rest of the backs can assert themselves.

But still, some sharps and Admiral Ackbar may state that it's a trap. Wabash needs to prove them wrong.

Wally - good comments right on.  I had to leave late in the 2nd Q and am glad Bash turned it on in the 2nd half.  Great to see Chamblee getting some touches (not one touch in the 1st half???) - dude touches it and good things will happen.  Belton's 3rd Q was very impressive.  I saw his TD run in the 1st half - he can fly when he turns it on.

I would think Bash moves in to top 10 with Bethel and Montclair St both losing.

Bell Game is a whiteout for Bash this year.  Lots don't open til 9 AM (so lame) and we have a whopping 2,800 tickets...WOW!  Barf.

Smeds,

I hope you are sitting down...  I agree with you!   ;D.  Bash needs to take care of business next week as the stakes get bigger the rest of the way!  I think our Seniors keep us focused and ready.

BTW, I think I need to go see an ophthalmologist on Monday. Those Notre Dame helmets have blinded me...

Also, I think Gunner Kiel won't like what he sees in South Bend. Let's get him to Wabash! He can sit behind Belton next year and battle with Walsh in 2013!  ;)

Mr. Barnes would sure look good about now.  About as good as Mr. Belton looked today.
Did someone actually say Barnes' replacement looked better than him?

Allegheny finishes the season with three straight home games against Wabash, Hiram and Oberlin.  Run the table, and they are looking at a tie for the NCAC championship.  To say the least, this will be the biggest game of the year for the Gators.
Long shall we sing thy praises, Old Wabash

BashDad

You think the NCAC will give out the OPOY award this year or just let that thing roll-over until next season?

It's kind of been a conference-wide snooze-fest on that side of the ball. Our leading rusher has three touchdowns. Our statistical leader in passing is bluh against good teams (Huntingdon: 15-33 186 1-1).

We give it to McKee? Chamblee?

I anticipate controversy.
