New regional rankings:

Still a little surprised to see CWRU ahead of IWU.  I still believe pretty strongly that while the regional committee my not be putting much weight on that Rochester result, the national committee will.  I would still expect IWU to be the first at-large team on the board from the North.

That is my hope (and cautious expectation) as well - but just in case, I'll be a CMU fan on Saturday! 8-)

Another option for my rooting (and better for the North's playoff participation) is Huntingdon over Wesley, likely making Case the Pool B selection. ;)

Thanks ExTartanPlayer for confirming how inept the Bishops have been...0-11 vs UAA?
Thats just weak. And, just what I need is some Pittsburger reminding me of Red Right 88, The Drive, Byners fumble...sweet memories...thanks Tartie.

Wally -  Didn't Wabash get seeded in front of Mount one year?   They were placed either a #1 or a #2 in the North.   My question is do you remember their S.O.S. being high that year?
Why should you go for it on 4th down?

I believe it was 2005 (because UMU lost a regular season game that year) when Wabash snagged the #1 seed.

It was in fact, 2005 that Wabash had the #1 seed.  Mount had lost a game to ONU that year.  I believe 2005 was before the NCAA started using an SOS metric as part of the selection/seeding criteria.  The SOS is a fairly recent development.

I know this is a football board, but just wanted to throw some NCAC good luck to the Wittenberg Volleball team in their trek towards a Regional title at Calvin. Let's hope they make it to a regional final against Calvin, who is undefeated. Witt gave Calvin their toughest test of the year earlier and would love retribution.

Also, I fully expect a Wooster beat-down this weekend as a mad Wittenberg team, Senior Day, and Wittenberg unbeatable at home are tough to overcome.

In 2005, the seedings were:

1. Wabash (10-0)
2. Mt. Union (9-1)
3. Augustana (9-1)
4. North Central (9-1)
5. Capital (8-2)
6. Lakeland (8-2)
7. Mt. St. Joseph (9-1)
8. Albion (7-3)

That was a year that a "C" (Capital) had two losses.

Back to the Bishops: 0-11 vs UAA WOW...thats horrible...I just don't understand this team...I dont think flipping the schedule would do much of anything because we would still lose to the Wabashs..Witts...Ghenys...and Woosters. THINGS NEED CHANGED NOW!!!! Prez Rock needs to get on board.

Hey...Joe Pa is out at Penn State how about we contact him for a Coaching Job. At least the players would be rejuvenated with him and want to win for a old guy.

I guess my point about flipping the schedule would be that instead of ending the year on a mild upswing the Bishops would be finishing by losing five or six in a row which might change the perception that there is positive inertia heading into the next season and how that change in perception might affect the offseason evaluation process.

With either scenario, wally, I don't think it would matter.
The program, I believe, has "spun"  ANYTHING from the previous
season into the next for "positive inertia"...A run at the start
of a season versus the end... won't matter. With the level that OWU
floats, only two people (in order) can change the fortunes of Bishop football
....The Prez & AD.

0-11 is something.  At least Hiram, as bad as their seasons have been over the last few years, has either gotten rid of the coaches or the coaches have left on their own every so often after a couple bad years.
Cannot imagine how that program can be turned around, other than a dynamic coach coming in and going gangbusters.
But after this week at Penn State, playing, losing and graduating from a Hiram or Kenyon or a Denison is most assuredly a valuble and respected accomplishment.  That sort of sickening behavior would not be ignored at any NCAC school.
Talked to a very good friend who played at Wooster many years ago and his experience at Wooster continues to be just a notch or two below his faith, family and work.
