Was Belton's injury mentioned this week?  Announcers said a tear in his knee at the beginning of the game.
And someone tell me that Wes C is O.K.

If NCC runs for 276 next week, I'll eat my hat.

Belton's injury was not known to anyone (as far as I know) until he took the field with a knee wrap on their first possession.

I noticed Wes #84 go onto the field late in the 4th on the "Good hands" team....  I have to think he is fine, if they put him out there.  I was very worried about him after his long catch and then hobbling to the sidelines.

WAF!

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Yep....  294 yards rushing  - 27 passing for NC so far today,  I think it is pretty apparent what we need to game plan for.   Stop...errr... slow their run =   Chance to win.   Easier said then done.

Hope Zinsmaster is ok..... need all the experience at D-line we can get next week.

Big stats of the day -   Wes Chamblee 193 all-purpose yards

                                IC -  29 yards rushing

Sure hope that takin' the foot off the gas and allowing IC to make a score look respectable against back-ups doesn't cost the LGs home field next week!  ::)

I don't think that's the way it works.

Well that's the ticket w NCC. They are a running team. If you can stop them, you can win. Their smallest running totals of the season are 175 v Redlands (a loss) and 199 V IWU ( a shutout win). You need to stop the run and not give up big plays in the passing game. The biggest challenge is figuring out how to score points against them.

I look forward to this game. there will be lots of red in Crawfordsville next week.

DPU3619

My point there was that this ought to be the defense best built to take that away.  They've haven't seen a really, really good run defense yet.  Redlands is about 117 ypg.  IWU is 123 ypg.  Wabash is half that.

BashDad

The Bash D better start meeting, like, now. The rushing yards are deceiving in that they don't reveal how many different looks NCC is giving and gaining yards from. Wildcat, option QB, Zone runs, Spread.... Tons and tons of scheming by that offense. It's not just line'm up and pound the rock.

USee

We'll see. I am not sure what kind of running game Wabash has defended but I would bet they haven't seen anything like NCC's. The Cardinals are committed to the run. You can't stop them for just 1 or 2 quarters. It will be 4 quarters of running the ball.

smedindy

Don't worry. The scrubnee TD has nothing to do with hosting next week.

I do think Illinois College is the team on the rise in the MWC. And they won't be an automatic win. Playoff experience helped Monmouth today as they beat IWU in triple OT 33-27.

That being said, the talent disparity was evident. Wabash was in total control. The once concern is some nagging injuries reared their head again. To beat North Central, Wabash needs to play their best game of the year and be healthy.

When does the NCAA confirm week 2 locations?

I would be shocked if the game is not @Wabash. Bash earned the right to host v anyone but UMU IMO. That's a big deal in the playoffs.

"While nostalgia is nice (and I understand the connection, of course, since I was in town in the 70's), we're now in the same conference with a Big Red.

Scarlet is so much more descriptive.

Besides, I was just following a suggestion by a boss-man, my friend."

Smedindy:
I was amazed at your audacity and pomposity.  I had decided not to respond and just fade from this board.  Then I decided that your cute comment first deserved a reply.
1.  I am not your "my friend".  I was not, I will never be.  You do not know me and have never spent any time with me.  You used the term intended to offend and it did.
2.  I do not need you lecturing me on nostalgia or anything else.  Whetner "scarlet" to you is "more descriptive or not" matters not one iota.  I am happy you like "scarlet".  If you bother to review the story as it applies to the choice of color by the College relative to heliotrope, it was "blood" and not "scarlet" that the students are purported to have preferred in their chant.  So ... prefer away ... "scarlet" or "blood".  Makes no difference.
3.The point of my simple post  was to recall and apply to today the chant that those who actually attended the game where the Little Giants advanced the furthest in the Div III playoffs (and incidentally was chanted by our then President Thad Seymour ... as I sat next to him).  I did not qualify it or explain it.  Those who understood would enjoy.  Those who did not ... fine.  Only the unwashed might feel the need for pomposity and correction. (I expected none ...  and, out of fun, intended to follow the post with another post containiing an explaination of the cheer ... but obviously I was aiming too high.)
4.And I know your "bossman" ... actually former "bossman", as you are no longer employed there ... and he is not that way.

So comment on ... I am done with it.  The enjoyable aspect of this Board (at least to me) was discussion of Wabash football as it applies to others with which it interacts and NOT other focus (self or otherwise).

One last comment:  way to go today ... Big Red ... way to go.
