The 2011 Monon Memory has now joined its 117 brethren on the shelf of the rivalry's history.  I just finished this:

I also thank you for the job you have done throughout the years......   I particularly appreciate the honesty with which  the story of the games are communicated regardless of outcome....   This one was pretty ugly.

Cheers!

per Weather Underground....

Saturday
Mostly cloudy. Chance of rain showers until midday... then rain showers likely in the afternoon. Highs in the upper 50s. Chance of showers 60 percent.

How will the weather affect things?

North Central will fumble the ball four times.  8-)  Wabash will convert these turnovers into 21 points.

What?!  Even in your dreams you can't make it 28 points? ;D

Stagg Again!!

There're a couple of minutes of first round highlights in Raeburn's pre-game show this week, for those who didn't get to watch the game.

CJ Gum turns off spell check and grammar check.  Doesn't need 'em.  He's THAT good.

True Dat!

Anyone an ESPNInsider?   What does it say about CJ?

I am.  Doesn't say anything, other than a positional rank of 64, whatever that means.

Honest question:  do you think NCC recruited Wabash DL Pat Clegg (Chicago kid) or no?  He may not have been CCIW-worthy.  Ha.

Congrats to the Bash guys with strong
representation on the NCAC awards...also to ER for coach of the year!  AJ Akinribade for Newcomer of the Year is very cool.

It's really only Tuesday!  Wow.

No doubt,  North Central will be the best team in all areas that Wabash will have faced this year,  by far.  Well.... except Depauw who was the best team at throwing Pick-6's.   ;)

Very nice!  :)

I would bet they gave it a shot but NCC hasn't had a whole lot of success getting kids out of Hinsdale Central.  I would think that he might've made the D-line rotation!   ;)

Thinking of 2007 when that old timer up in Whitewater told us that Adi wouldn't start in the WIAC?  Not on Whitewater.  Not on Lacrosse.  On any team in the WIAC, period.  That was hilarious.

Wally,

I do remember that, hilarious for sure.  He may have started for North Park because they played Benedictine tough who beat U Chicago who knew Kevin Bacon who dated Jennifer Garner who graduated from Denison but they got crushed by Wabash who lost to Mount Union in 2002 and Mount lost to Whitewater a couple of times and Illinois College beat Millikin.  AND my dad's bigger than your dad!

Hahaha

Great analysis, RG.  If NCC can't get in and disrupt Belton and put some hits on him, he'll have the room to run.  There were some flashbacks to the Franklin games from 07 and 08 when Chad Rupp would use his athletic ability to make plays both running and throwing.  Does Belton have Rupp's ability?  I haven't really followed Wabash that much.

The reason that Rupp was able to run so easily was that the defensive scheme involved the linebackers turning their backs on the LOS and playing man to man coverage on receivers. Contrast that to the multiple schemes that were employed last week.

Oh man... you're gonna make me contradict a point from earlier. Fine. I don't care.

Witt played all of 3 teams with a winning record. Those teams were Wash U, Huntingdon, and Wabash. In those three games, they were 1-2 and Zoeller's stat lines were:

Wash U         15-27-0     139     0 TDs      WIN
Huntingdon    15-33-1     186     1 TD        LOSS
Wabash         15-27-1    146     1 TD         LOSS

Your reigning NCAC player of the year, folks!!!!

Trying to rationalize this.  The coaches must have discounted the head to head game or just not watched it.  Saw both twice this year and Belton was better.  Period!  And the voting on this board was not even close, although I know there are a lot of Wabash posters.
I guess as someone said, too much Wabash everywhere else.
I would have felt better if Josh McKee had gotten it.  A fantastic season.  Except against Wabash.
Cograts to the Scots players.  Trust we can bounce back next year.  The quarterback situation will be interesting, to say the least.
Oh yes, go Wabash!  Will have to fight to watch the game on Saturday with the kids and their families here.  Daddy, Wabash?  Really?
