Painting with a very wide brush here, but DePauw has had a great deal of success with those kids from the Catholic schools in Cincy.  DePauw always recruits Cincinnati well.  Not sure why, but we'll take it.  They tend to recruit Chicago well, too.

I don't have much else to go with this particular player because St. X just doesn't throw it a lot. The young man went 132/243 for 1468 in 14 games.  He was third on the team in both carries and rushing yards, so there's that.

It's going to be interesting to follow DePauw's QB situation as we get closer.  That was a.... point of consternation.... during the previous season.

Wooster's schedule for the upcoming season...

Sep. 1   Allegheny (1:00)
Sep. 8   at St. Vincent (1:00)
Sep. 15  open date
Sep. 22  Wittenberg (6:00)(HC)
Sep. 29  at Denison (1:00)
Oct. 6   at Case Western Reserve (1:00)
Oct. 13  Hiram (1:00)
Oct. 20  at Wabash (1:00)
Oct. 27  DePauw (2:00)
Nov. 3   Kenyon (1:00)
Nov. 10  at Ohio Wesleyan (1:00)

It's interesting to see the Woo-Witt game moved up to September.

Witt/Woo should be a Week 11 game forever and always, but so be it.  Of all the, um, head-scratching  things that we've seen over the years regarding the football schedule, this is fairly benign.

At least it's Homecoming for the Scots.  Maybe somebody threw Wooster a bone after they lost their Homecoming game all together a couple of years ago.

Is it at least written into stone that Monon Bell is forever week 11?  What a travesty that would be to switch (perhaps even worse than moving UM/OSU to week 3?! :o

I hadn't noticed your negative karma before.  How did my favorite pickems tormentor (I've finished FAR higher [and even won] in every other pickems I enter) fall so low?  I gave you one back, but that seems so futile.  Folks, wally_wabash is practically a legend in the pickems community! 8-)  His spreads are downright diabolical! ;)

And the absence of Oberlin after what, 88 games?  Is this related to the NCAC Power Ratings schematic or with ten competitors, a lottery drawing?  Just curious.

Regarding the karma comment:  I noticed too.  Some "jack wagon" has been going off on Karma whackings - look at mine, look at Wally's (more so than mine! :)), and Smeds' has taken a beating.  Could be cool but obviously some are abusing it for sure which negates the potential of a nice enhancement.

I wonder why and how Chamblee hasn't gotten a sniff at a camp or a tryout.  I know he attended Ball State's pro day and thought he had a very good workout.  Bummer, I thought he would get at least a look...

Hearing more and more on Bash recruiting class - it sounds as if it is shaping up nicely.  Dig it!  Still some big decisions out there however.  Some standouts from some big programs along with some good out of state kids.  I am not sure how many are footballers but sounds like we have 6 coming from Arizona and I know 1 is a QB from a solid program and another is a DE from Scola's high school.  Wabash Always Fights!

That sounds really good, I can hardly wait to see how it all shapes up!!!  I don't get the karma thing anyway, either...  Mine is -57.

I was disappointed by this as well. Hopefully he gets a chance. I would love to see him play longer.

I don't know about written in stone exactly...but if Wabash, DePauw, the NCAC, and the SCAC were all able to come together and make sure that the game stayed at week 11 then I don't see how it would be any more difficult to do that now that there's one less party to consider and those that are left  are all under the same roof.  And it would be silly to move it around...the game (and now the conference) is showcased nationally and everybody knows it as an end-of-season rivarly.  No need to monkey around with something that's worked for decades.

DePauw will oppose the following colleges & universities:

Sep 8:  St. Olaf
Sep 15: @ Wittenberg
Sep 22: @ Carnegie Mellon
Sep 29: Wash U
Oct 6:  OWU
Oct 13: @ Allegheny
Oct 20: Kenyon
Oct 27: @ Wooster
Nov 3:  Denison
Nov 10: @ Wabash

Regardless of how much better or worse DePauw is in 2012, any year that you play the four (maybe five) toughest opponents on the road is going to be tough. Some of you that are more familiar with how the schedulers "think" (relative term) may be able to answer this - does this mean DePauw gets all four of Wabash, Witt, Woo, & Gheny at home in 2013?

Also, I'm not certain this is exactly what the DePauw administration envisioned.  Going to Pennsylvania twice isn't exactly the way we drew this up.  I reckon the Athletic Dept was not pleased about this roadie to CMU.  At least they struggled almost as much as DePauw did last year.

WABCOL86

Wes, that does look like a rough schedule for DPU.  Looks like the Dannies will have another interesting (in the Chinese meaning of the term) year on the gridiron.

One would "think" so, Wes.  Just compared the DPU and WC schedules and dates and at a glance schedulers might have been trying to balance out the travels for both the NCAC and the UAA contingent though would think Chicago (over CMU) to be a logical opponent for both Indiana schools given distance and alum support.  Should the same schedule hold firm in 2013, it appears Wabash might be doing the Pennsylvania promenade on successive weeks...  ;)

I think we played at Witt two years in a row in 2001 and 2002. Who knows.

I'm shocked! 2013 is the first year of the round-robin, so I anticipated the NCAC to just forget about the previous years' schedules and go forward with a new 'reset', but it seems that DPU does have the aforementioned four at home in 2013.

Wabash's 2013 home schedule isn't exactly fraught with peril (save one): Denison, OWU, Kenyon, Hiram and Wittenberg.
