I've always thought, and continue to think, that Belton is bigger than the roster says:  about 5'10" 185 lbs.  And that is more wieght than he carried last year, maybe 5 lbs or so.  Then, I see him close up, and he looks just about what the roster says.  Could it be the way he plays (ROAD HOUSE:  "I thought you'd be bigger"), his frame? Maybe he puts lifts in his helmet.

Roadhouse references are an easy way to get a karma bump.

Belton was the NCAC Offensive PoTW as well. Of course, the NCAC decided James Huddleston of OWU was their defensive PoTW and not DeStefano.

I don't have a ton of the details but I do know Chase was a very late commit for Wabash - maybe June.  I also know he got a call from a Witt coach who was furious he decided on Wabash.  I remember hearing this before the Witt game Chase's freshman year - knowing he would get some playing time with Hudson's injury that year.  By the way, remember the game Chase played against Wooster that year?

I also agree he's bigger than that - seems about 6'1 185.  He's got a lot of big game experience that's for sure - think about those (Bell games, Witt games, playoff games, etc.)   I'd like to think that's a slight edge to Bash, who knows...

Hey Wally -- where do you find these stats?

NCAA stats page, which is completely awesome.  That page is also linked in the "News" pulldown on the front page of d3football.com.

Thanks a bunch.  Good stuff.

And Chase's story RE: Witt coaches reacting without class to guys that choose to go to Wabash is unfortunately not the only time I've heard that trope.

Part of why I feel a lot of intensity in this rivalry. I grew up in Greencastle so it's hard to "hate" DePauw. I know too many good people there.

I actually have a strong dislike for Wittenberg. Have had a lot of negative experiences there. Even had the LB McKinley BARK at me when I was leaving the radio booth one year. Awesome.

I usually prefer to play nice, but I have a little vitriol for the Witt folk. Maybe they'll prove me wrong this weekend. I doubt it.

I really started looking at Wabash more closely several years when I met a former Wabash player.  Very good guy.  And several visits to Witt revealed rude people. Not all but definitely some. So since Wooster hasn't beaten them since Sutton days Wabash has been fun to follow too.
This Saturday Chase and Co. shine. 35-21 Wabash

Just a ho-hum 283 yards and 4 TDs for a freshman making his first start in a tough road environment.  Wooster must have missed Kody Lemond on the scouting report.  He had 10 grabs for 197 and all 4 of those TDs!

Quite honestly, he is as good as I have seen in the NCAC at quarterback.  May not have the passing yardage of some others, but the toatal package is quite good. 21-2 as a starter-that is true?  I have also seen him in really big games other than against Wooster.  Enjoy him this year Wabash.
Trust he will add to his legacy on Saturday.

What a player Kody Lemond was. I wish his career hadn't ended with an injury.

Witt is very negative when it comes to recruiting and especially when you let them know you will not be going there. It is even worse when you are from Springfield and you head to Wabash. WAF!

The angle isn't great on the first TD, but was there controversy whether Belton broke the plain on that first score?
