Belton having very poor game

Agreed.... He doesn't seem comfortable.....  OWU has something to do with that.

I agree - they are getting good pressure on Belton.  Hopefully, halftime adjustments will be effective.

The Kenyon broadcast sounds like Corey Flintoff of NPR is broadcasting the game. A very sonorous, authoritarian, exacting baritone.

Bash D looks terrific. Offense had to start on own 1 inch line and I think that, compounded by the Holmes fumble, messed with them. Field position didn't get flipped until mid-way through 2nd quarter. Will be good to start the 2nd half with the ball. Get O in a rhythm. I can't believe Belton will go 3-8 again...

OWU D looks legit.

Yea it looks legit but we haven't played anyone this season so that's probably why it's so good hahahahahah

We need more variety in the pass game. The bash d had adjusted well and is sitting on the short stuff. Got to come out bombs away to try and get one on the board.

Our D will come out stronger in the 2nd half.

You couldn't ask for a better game than this.

I'm impressed with the pace of OWU's offense.  They ran 48 plays in the first half which is a ridiculous number of snaps.  Predictably, OWU was not able to close the deal in the red zone.  That's just how it goes when you have no offensive diversity.  Those little swing routes and screens are great when the defense isn't all crammed up in the same 10 yard window.  Not so much when the field compresses.

Both defenses are playing very, very well today.

And of course, we wouldn't be able to play one half of scoreless football against a good defense without soembody burying Chase Belton.  Amazing that after four years and so many big wins the guy just can't win some people over.  I give up on that front.

Did anybody say OWU's defense wasn't good?  At any point in the run up to this game, did anybody ever say that OWU played bad defense?

You know what takes stones?  Getting on here and making predictions.  Bold predictions BEFORE something happens.  Jumping on after the fact and taunting is weaksauce.

So much for a shootout, eh? I see the pundits on this board (and around D3, and I include myself) are Dick Morris-esque in their accuracy thus far...

How about that OWU red-zone stuff, though, eh? How THAT? That's some pretty high quality stuff from Wally.

OWU D is legit but Wabash stopping themselves - two turnovers and two holding penalties negating good gains and resulting in punts.  OWU vulnerable to the ground game but if Belton cannot complete some passes, a one-dimensional Wabash offense is much easier to defend.  OWU offense on fire in 1st half - the bubble screens and short outs, Wabash's weakness all season, is giving OWU lots of short yardage. However, the bend but not break  D is working so far.  Near the end of the half, DBs finally started jumping the routes.  Interesting to see what OWU dials up in the 2nd half - pump and go may be there for OWU.  I was hoping for a less exciting game.  Congrats to OWU for a well-played first half.

Wooster has kicked a FG, leading DPU 9-6 in a pillow fight of epic proportions. 9:28 to go in the 2Q.

Kenyon still holds their 20-7 lead as the third quarter marches on.

Wally,

They aren't saying (my interpretation) that Chase is a bad QB, they are saying he didn't have a good half.  He is most certainly NOT comfortable and when he has had time, he's not making quick and decisive decisions like he typically does.  He missed a wide open Hildebrand on that dig route that would have been big yards.  He'll come back this half.  This first possession is HUGE HUGE!

Too bad Hodges stepped out on that INT, would have taken 7-0 at half.

Nervous and gassy.  HAHA.

Let's go Bash!!!

Who is burying Belton?  A four-year starter - yes; big wins - yes; bad first half - yes.  Just calling it like it is.  Sometimes he throws darts (Hanover) and then sometimes it looks like duck season.  I am not calling for nor hoping that Walsh or anyone else play QB.  I fully support Belton as the QB.  If you don't think that 3-8 with 1 INT is subpar, then so be it.
