I may get lost in the four way tie, though. H2H has to be common vs. everyone so OWU and Kenyon missing games with Wabash and Witt screws that up.

Common opponents would be Allegheny again, which knocks out Wabash. So it's Kenyon, Witt and OWU then.

No H2H thanks to both missing Witt.
Common opponents would be Allegheny.
Kenyon with one away loss. Out.

Witt vs. OWU.
No H2H
Common opponents even, both lost to Wabash.
Both lost to Wabash, at home, no road losses.
Power ranking would go to Witt, right?

So that I can enjoy my evening,  can someone just tell me that Wabash, if they win out, will be in the dance.  ;)

Yes, power ranking would certainly go to Wittenberg over OWU.  If there is no power ranking at the moment, Wittenberg would also have a longer conference win streak than OWU, so they'd win there as well.

I'm sure people are wondering if Kenyon can get the AQ here.  I'm having a hard time finding a scenario that puts the Lords in the playoffs if they wind up in any kind of tie with Wabash/OWU/Witt.  The away loss really kills them.

Let's see how the rest of the night plays out. Odds are good but never certain. Again, the CMU loss hurts both SOS and now CMU won't be regionally ranked in the South. The NWC and MIAC will affect this calculus.

Well the NCAC may have changed their tie-breaker scenario again. Away losses? I think HOME losses are worse. You're supposed to win at home. Don't reward a home loss!

Nothing against Kenyon, but if they got the AQ they'd be cannon fodder for Mt. Union. It would resemble a Mt. Union / Muskingum game.

I looked through the NCAC guide to see if there were tiebreakers in there. (HAH!) Forgot that Kenyon was picked tenth and last in the NCAC by the coaches, and they're two games from meh teams to holding a piece of the league trophy.

CMU's loss hurts OWU both for SOS reasons and RRO reasons.  Wabash gets dinged on RRO only as CMU isn't a regional game for Wabash so the Tartans' record doesn't factor into Wabash's SOS calculation.  Clear as mud, right?

Oh, yeah. I thought the OWP and OOWP were region-neutral. Silly me.

Always good to note that the tiebreaking going on here is speculative using rules that were published in 2010.

Is it a matter of punishing a team for losing at home or rewarding the team that won on the road?  In general, I think the relative good of winning road games outweighs the bad of losing at home.  I've learned more about what this Wabash team is all about with the wins at Witt and at OWU than I did when they lost at home to Allegheny.  Different ways of looking at the same thing I guess.

Of course you wouldn't have been tied had you taken care of your business at home. I see your point though.

At any rate, the Allegheny game is just outright confuzzling to me now. How could Wabash, the way they're playing now, lost to THAT team even in that wind? You play that game again and ITS. NOT. CLOSE. But the result stands. Ah, sports.

No doubt.  With each passing week, the Allegheny/Wabash result makes less and less sense.  I was thinking about that earlier...thinking that it's about the most confusing result in D3 this year outside of Buffalo State/UWW.  But then UW-SP out Buffalo Stated Buffalo State...and with each passing week, even that result doesn't seem as out of bounds as it did at the time.  Weird season we've got going on here nationally.

Oberlin's only up 6-0 on Hiram midway through the second. It's a festival of missed XPs today.

Wittenberg scored two TDs in the first 2:10 of the game against Denison, lead 14-0 with 12:45 to go in the first.

Oberlin leads Hiram 12-0 at the half.

I'll raise a Zima for DePauw today.  Barnes didn't play defense for Wooster, so I'll take the offensive output for what it is.  Appears to be a rotating QB deal now for DePauw, which I've gone on record with before.  Don't need to rehash my belief on that.  I'm not at practice every day, so I don't know.  This was the best day they've had running the ball in recent memory.  Overall, pleased.

I think this is one of those deals with a young team where I don't think you really know who shows up until you start the game.  Sometimes you get decent, and sometimes you get bad.  Not sure if we'll get a tremendous, wow factor effort from this team this year, but overall, satisfied with today.  In my opinion, they'll need to run it AT LEAST this well, likely much better, to make Monon a conversation worth having.  Easier said that done.  Wabash run D > Wooster run D.

I stuck with the lethargic Bishop broadcasters until halftime before switching over to WNDY.  Even though the Wabash call was out of sync with the video, I wasn't being lulled to sleep.  Mr. Excitement, every time the LGs were in 2nd and 3rd an long, reiterated how "Wabosh" as a running team did not have passing attack capabilities to get out of those situations.  Did any listeners catch any reaction when the long range bombs started dropping?  Just curious.  ::)

They're a joke.  And to answer your question, lethargic incompetence turned to stuttering bewilderment mixed with radio silence.  Appreciate the kudos, BTW.
