That's why I don't post in the Monon thread.  Not worth the time or effort.

This is pretty awesome!

1979 piece on the Monon Bell game from the TV show "Sunday Morning"

Remember when both sides could walk on the other side???  I've said it before but several times we had to change ends of the field for the extra point when fights in the crowd would spill over on to the field.

Smeds -

I laughed out loud on that one!  That dude completely lost it WOW.

Hilarious.

Ready for the best weekend of the entire year!  Let's go Bash!  How big is this game for Belton's legacy?  Never losing a Bell game is a pretty big deal.

Interesting article on this site this morning about projections for playoffs. Only NCAC team listed is Wittenberg. No reason is given why the Tigers are the NCAC aq. I am assuming they now think the winner of a tiebreaker would be the Tigers(of course we all know what assumption is the mother of). Some explanation is given to why the Bishops would be left out with no mention of Kenyon.

Maybe the gurus have knowledge from the NCAC that the rest of us don't. I know they've been efforting to get some clarification there.

There is a slight inaccuracy in the analysis.  OWU is 0-1 against regionally ranked opponents (Wabash). I don't think it changes the outcome of Pat's projection. AQ'ing Kenyon and not Witt sure does though. If Pat's projection doesn't like OWU's schedule strength and RRO results, it will like Witt's even less.

The projections have Franklin going to Waynesburg as a 5 in the south and the winner going to Mary Hardin Baylor.  Didnt see that one coming.  Assuming Witt is in it would be a lot closer trip for them to make that trip.  Who really knows what will happen.

Any team within 500 miles is fair game in the first round. It isn't simply a matter of finding out which playoff teams are closer to one another and pairing them off that way.

Since I love conspiracy theories I will throw this out. Is the projection of Wittenberg based on the ncaa putting pressure on the ncac to pick the Tigers based on the 500 mile rule and the fact the ncaa has to pick of the travel tab if the distance for a team is over that distance? Without clarification from the ncac anything is possible.

I think that's unlikely.  I don't think one more flight is worth all that fuss from the NCAA.  And truthfully, it's not like the we're talking about the difference between Linfield and Redlands here, either.  That's sometimes a negative in this region.  Everybody is so close that often those things don't matter in the pairings.

No conspiracy. I think Pat & Co. are projecting a Kenyon loss this weekend (or hoping for one...)
