Well, Barnes is playing well and great new coach. So next week will be a fun game. Not bold enough to predict a win, but should be a fun game.  Wabash may be the class of the league this year.

Wow! Denison wins! Is Wabash that good?

I'm really happy for Hiram - they could be this year's Kenyon   I also am on record as predicting that one of the big 3, specifically OWU, will drop a surprising game that we don't see coming.  Perhaps Wooster, perhaps DePauw, perhaps Denison.

One of two proved true, thanks to Denison, but Wooster showed Hiram is no latter day Kenyon.

Yes.

But seriously...Denison has some guys. They didn't take a step back this year like I thought they would trying to replace Paulus/Fioroni/Layer. That's a program on the come.

This Wabash team keeps there focus and plays every game like it was the stagg bowl, they could go places! One game at a time.

Welp, hard to tell since again no one really wants to finish fourth (or third, if this OWU result is a trend and not a blip...) Wooster also could be this year's Kenyon, except that there's a full round robin.

Always interesting to read the various viewpoints here so I have a question that many of the followers of this forum should be able to answer for me. Forgive me if this has been mentioned before(I am sure it has, it would almost have to have been mentioned before)but does Oberlin always have this much trouble fielding a team? I think I counted 35 players tonight. Wittenberg looked great but 35 players   on the opposing team. How can you possibly judge a performance against such a weak opponent? I love all d3 sports but sometimes the gulf between the good and the bad is down right ugly.

Oberlin's numbers are always low, but they had maybe just a dozen more (at most) last year and they beat Wabash, so I wouldn't say 'weak'. They lost a lot of seniors and are rebuilding, but the Yeomen are always up for a scrap most weeks.

They did beat CWRU 19-2 in week one, BTW.

I really wish there was some Allegheny insight on this board. Wabash's D can make many teams look inept, but week after week the Gators have been putrid.

They've gone 10 quarters without a score. They have no TDs rushing. They're 0-5 in the red zone this year.

Wow.

47 points from Denison?

They threw 51 on Earlham. Right now, scoring 13 on Wabash looks like 35 against any other team...

I looked it up....You have to go back to 1970 to find the last time Allegheny didn't win at least 3 games. Since that's not happening I kept looking and it looks like the next step was the 0-8 campaign in '53.  Quite literally we could be witnessing a once in a lifetime thing.

I wouldn't hold high hopes for 2014. Our bad teams aren't as bad as they used to be.
