I always had to show my work in Abstract Algebra and Real Number Analysis - and I still have to show my work to skeptics to this day.

There are always howls about the NCAA being open and transparent on picking at larges for all championships. We don't have to attach names, just see the work.

The notion that the Committee didn't give Wabash a fair shake is preposterous when you look at the aggregate of the process.  And that was his point, as confirmed in essence by JP Williams -- the likelihood that a three deep team will be able to garner enough support when they are inferior to the two deep team in the same region is not realistic since SJF already sat there with some level of support in Rounds 3 and 4.  The idea that somehow a new entrant would knock SJF down a notch is foolish -- that's not how it would work in any relative voting system.

2.) Can we please see the work that amounted to the "aggregate of the process"? Oh, we can't?

That.

When you realize how much further down the transparency road we are now compared to 2007, maybe you'd understand that we're definitely making strides.

In today's technology world, Mount Union should not be allowed to host anymore playoff games until they start streaming their games on the Internet.

I wish they had something like that Wabash set up. That was really nice.  The current SID is not afraid to change stuff so it could definitely happen in the future.  I'm not sure what the arrangement is with FoxSportsOhio though.

Bash Folks / others interested in a glimpse at a Wabash tradition.

Here is the 2013 Monon Bell Chapel Talk......   It is great.   ER is getting very good at this!   He is a must see!  All the captains were great as well.    I am hereby granting medical redshirts to Nate Scola and Mark Riffle.  ;)  Wish I could.

We're lucky Mt. Union doesn't use a telegraph. They'd probably want to do recreations of the games like they did in Eight Men Out, with one guy shouting out the play and the other moving things around on a big board and make you travel to Cleveland, or Cincy, or Columbus to see them....

"Burke, rush for 5 yards. Tackle by Pines. Third Down and 3 at the Mt. Union 43"....

I want to attend such an event.

We could do that with Live Stats. As long as there was beer. And pizza. It could work.

1.) I'm not trying to disagree simply to keep this going, but "a new entrant" wouldn't have to knock SJF down a notch. They'd just have to pick up all the votes that the "two deep team" got. Right?

2.) Can we please see the work that amounted to the "aggregate of the process"? Oh, we can't?

Great to see Sean Hildebrand selected as Offensive Player of the Week!

While reading the NCAC release, I saw that Oberlin has played their last game at Savage Stadium.  They will open next year on a renovated field which is part of a new $8 million athletic complex.  This seems to underline their continued commitment to the football program.  Good news for the Yeomen.

31 seniors, that's amazing.  Have to believe retention is a key piece of the Wabash winning formula.  Reminds me of the old adage I saw painted in a football locker room years ago:

Most of their games are over before half time.
