The only thing saving me from picking Franklin to be Whitewater is the disaster that occured in Bluffton, Ohio a couple weeks ago. Had that NOT (edit) occured, I'd probably pick them.

We all have a right to be silly. Looks like Bluffton saved you from exercising that right in this one. Franklin will never "be" Whitewater.  I'm assuming you meant it literally since you edited the post elsewhere.  ;D

I didn't, I'm just dumb. I meant beat, which about 3 weeks ago I thought was definitely possible.

Just ribbin ya!  ;D

Good luck tomorrow, Witt. Stay healthy for that matchup with Mount.

QuoteRyan's take: Wittenberg 24, Lebanon Valley 20
Keith's take: Wittenberg 28, Lebanon Valley 14
Pat's take: Wittenberg 24, Lebanon Valley 10
Consensus: Wittenberg in a defensive battle.

Erroneous.

Suddenly Franklin hemorrhages the ball away all the time. Another 3 TOs today. 10-10 5mins left.

Jonny is a pretty decent 31-58, but only for 211.

EDIT: Franklin shoulda won it right there. Picked up a fumble on a sack and returned it for a TD, buuuuuuuut they were offsides on 3rd and 18.

That's not pretty decent. OWU territory.

I'll call it decent to be over half. I'll call it good over 60% and great over 65%. Just semantics, I suppose.

Franklin scores, but the webcast had the slate up from the previous timeout, so nobody saw it. Good job guys.

Franklin wins 17-10.

Hats off to Witt.  Solid win for the 20th ranked conference over the 10th ranked conference.

The Pool C teams from the North Region are having a tough slog today.

But the Pool C team from the East that so many people were upset about panned out rather well.  I'm sure Wabash is a fine program, truly.  But Fisher isn't undeserving, which I know many of you also acknowledged.  It's a shame that the 32 best teams overall couldn't get in.  Then both fan bases would be happy to see their teams potentially fighting another day.

Did weather conditions play into SJF's favor?  Really looked brutal in Cleveland.

I would say Fisher definitely handled the conditions more favorably (it snows a ton in Rochester).  John Carroll was very dominant in the 1st quarter.  Our defense held them at bay and eventually our offense found a way to break through their extremely solid defensive unit.  Then the weather turned putrid and it gave an already strengthening Fisher team a boost.

I think if it weren't for some personal foul penalties in the second half that John Carroll wouldn't have advanced the ball into Fisher territory the entire second half.  It was a dominating 2 and a half quarters to finish the game.

congrats wittenberg, you looked great today. I was expecting a much close game. Took them right out of their plan with those early scores. Good luck next week, you will give the raiders all they can handle. By the way you might just get a punt against them also.

Item of note:  the OAC runner up leaves the playoffs very early for the 2nd year in a row?  This year against an at-large selection.

Congrats to Witt.
