UWW 10
Wabash 7

Half....

I'll take it... make some adjustments... find our passing game.... we are in it.

If Wabash wants to stay in the game it's their offense which needs to come alive. Their defense and special teams are keeping them in the game but the offense hasn't moved the ball really outside of one drive that ended in the fumble.

The adjustments out of half will determine it, UWW always good at those too.

EDIT: I don't know if you saw it bashbrother but there was good video of the 07 blizzard game shown before the game.

Good observations!!!!!

Like the Monon Bell game 2 weeks ago, Wabash's defense (like DePauw's) is turning in a strong effort but the O stayed home.  Hard to win with 94 yards of offense after almost 3 quarters.  But hats off to the LGs on a fine season.

What a bummer of a 2nd half. Couldn't score on the pick inside the 20 and then gave them the ball after the ensuing stop inside our 20. They score and we can't feed Zureck anymore. Everything snow-balled from there.

Proud of our guys. We're definitely getting better. Couple offensive players away from being right there.

Congrats to UWW. Hope we see you again next year.

Great season Wabash damn proud of you gentlemen! ! Good luck in life seniors although I don't think you'll need much luck as you are some class acts.
WAF!
GO BASH!

02 Warhawk

Must say, the Giants were probably one of the hardest hitting teams UWW has faced all year.

Hopefully we can meet again

The nightmare scenario today was getting behind two scores in the second half and having to get away from Holmes/Zurek.  Z was having some really good success against that tough Warhawk defense, but after 17-7 Wabash had to chase an extra score and really got out of the 1A plan today.  Lot of procedure penalties in the second half also hurt and kept Wabash behind schedule.

The defense fought their tails off today and did all of the things they needed to do give Wabash a good shot.  Turned UWW over four times (I think 4 is the number of giveaways UWW had all year coming into this game), got the stops through the first 2.5 quarters that they needed to, but Behrendt is so solid and Kumerow is not guardable.  A couple of other big plays when Wabash's blitz didn't quite get home, and that's how things snowball.

Congrats to UWW!  They are such a great team (we knew this) and if Kumerow is getting healthier and healthier and that OL plays to its ability, I'm not sure how they get beat.  Xs and Os can't account for that dude and he is the ultimate safety valve for that Warhawk offense.  This was a lot of fun today and I hope we get to do this again next December!

One of the best groups of seniors to play for Wabash -- will definitely miss those guys. They brought the program to a new, higher place. That's pretty cool. Hope they all have awesome lives.

For what it's worth, congratulations to Wabash on a very respectable season. There are about 100 other teams sitting at home that would have loved a 10-win season and a chance at the defending National Champs.

Actually, more like 209 of them.   ;)

Tremendous season, Little Giants

Wabash Always Fights!

I don't think anyone in D3 can guard Kumerow. What a hoss.

I'm really proud of this Wabash team. One of the best groups of seniors we've had, as #3 mentioned above. I know it's tough to end a season like this but you can see we're getting closer.

I have faith in our coaching staff and players that they will keep stepping up.

Great season and thanks to the seniors. 4 Bell Game victories and 2 trips to the playoffs. There is much to be proud of.

I know Wally talks about data points in his analysis. There are VERY few data points of Wabash beating a strong team.

"Absence of evidence is not the evidence of absence."  - Carl Sagan

Sagan is a hack.

And you are typing out of both sides of your keyboard. When it comes to the two and three WIAC teams, you have a "show me" attitude. When pointed out that Wabash has not proven anything, you quote Sagan.

THIS is hackery of the fullest degree. You can't keep moving the goalposts. Winning a playoff game IS proving something. Being in the playoff mix consistently IS proving something. Being consistently ranked AND talked about as a playoff team year over year and being favored to win a playoff game more often than not IS proving something. It IS the sign of a national program. Wabash isn't a playoff filler.  Witt's not a playoff filler. They're not an MIAA or UMAC team.

You all have lost sight that being playoff contenders year over year over year is pretty special in D3. It's NOT de rigueur for almost every team in D3.

You ARE getting to be like Mt. Union. I had hoped not.

Smed
I have to go here and I apologize to all the good folk on this site.
You Smed, are a pompous buffoon lacking true football knowledge because you think it's found in a stat or a Massey rating.
UWO would crush Wabash. UWP would beat Wabash and UWRF, at 3-7 would give Wabash everything they could handle.
I don't speak from arrogance or elitism. I wish success for all football players and programs. The fact that TLU played MHB tight of Muhl played tight or Wabash won a game is meaningless to the kids that worked their tails off on teams like UWO and were overlooked because of some backwards section process.
If you watched the game today Smed you got a chance to see what we UWW folks see on a regular basis. As such- we know what a playoff competitive team looks like. And when we say UWO of UWP belong, we don't say it out of arrogance. We say it because we don't need a stat sheet or a rating system to tell us what a really good team looks like.

I Love what Wabash stands for, but you Smed are wrong as wrong can be.

Great fan support from Wabash. A sea of red across the field.

I stopped by the large Wabash tailgate area to say hi to Wally Wabash.  He wasn't there at the time. I left a message with a group of Li' Giant fans to tell Wally that it was great to have  Wabash back at the Perk with one of the great fan bases in D3 football
