Love me some Benny Hill!  And the last few pages of discussion has certainly warranted it.  All rhetoric aside, HSC will be one of our tougher opponents this season so Wabash will need to be ready from the outset.

I forgot they were playing.

Thanks for the chuckle.  +1

But on this board unless you kiss up to the LGs you'll see a karma nose dive.

From the looks of it, it's not just Wabash fans dinging karma on your never-ending circular argument. And the Wabash fan base isn't the first one you've targeted for pot-stirring and gotten dinged because of it, right? Gotta be able to take it if you're going to dish it out.

I'm not complaining Pat. I know I'm an instigator. I expect the karma dings. I like dishing it out and never take offense to the replies. I rebut but I'm typically always typing with a smile on my face. I love it I did the same thing with Linfield. There was a nice lady that baked me cookies!  I made her try one first!  :). JK on the other hand is not an instigator. He's generally spot on. Just so you guys know my rating mid summer was something like 66 to 86. I've gotten more + than -  I am just having fun. If Wabash guys skin is so thin that's on them.

So I'm just trying to be clear here. You don't have a problem with the Wabash Media Guide listing the 2006 Wabash team as Champions despite sharing the championship with a team that beat them h2h, but you want HSC fans to refer to last year as a co-championship because it " misrepresents the actual history"?  Come on Wally, just admit you overstepped on this one and we can all laugh about it and wonder about how bad the final score will be Saturday. My guess? Wabash wins by 24...

I just checked the media guide and the media guide most definitely says "2006 8-2, 6-1 NCAC (Tie First)".  That seems like a pretty accurate account to me.

Earlier in the guide there is a paragraph dedicated to the 2006 team which says:
Quote
Wabash repeated as NCAC champs in 2006, tying Wittenberg at the top of the league standings with a 6-1 record.

I don't see anything wrong with that either.  I guess I'm not sure where you're reading that Wabash's media guide is trying to obscure the history?

Kindly check the GIANT GRAPHIC that takes up the entire back COVER. And wow I don't think I've ever lost Karma this fast before. Prickly Little Giants, aren't you????

Ah, there it is, thanks.  Lumped in with the rest of Wabash's NCAC conference championships.  It's fine.  That one counts, too, even if it didn't come with the league's automatic bid to the tournament.   In fact, I was at the game where Wabash clinched that championship.  It was at Denison in Wabash's 1000th game I believe.  Pretty cool day.  Piper-Deeds is a great place to watch a game.

As for karma dings, I'm not your guy.  I'm an applause only guy these days.  If I don't like a post, I'd rather have a dialogue about it than anonymously smite.

Here's the link to the preview on the HSC website. http://www.hscathletics.com/sports/fball/2015-16/releases/20150902tbi7cl  I have to warn you. It's going to get you guys really upset. It mentions nothing about your national prowess. Instead it mentions your 5 NCAC championships since 2005. It then mentions our 5 ODAC championships since 2007. You know, pumping the HSC program to be equal to yours. Which of course is impossible. I know you guys expect such hideous slights from me. I hope you'll forgive HSC writer for not explaining in great detail what a great national power you guys think you are.

That's a pretty good release. There's a difference between this kind of sanitized data dump and the editorializing you've engaged in.

OK, so who is most likely to have a "Moral Victory" this weekend?  OWU, Wooster, or H-SC  ;)?

I'm thinking OWU.

Hopefully Wooster. I'm the ultimate hopelessly optimistic fan, but realistically there is almost no chance Woo wins this one. I just really hope it isn't by the 40 point spread that Wally had.

A Wooster fan!  We have a sighting!

Haha yeah! I was actually surprised how few of us there are. I was also disappointed to find out you weren't a Wooster fan. I'm from Iowa and grew up a cyclone fan so d3 sports are still relatively new to me. So whenever I see anything Scots or Scotland related I automatically think of Wooster.

Welcome aboard WooClone15!   a few of us were just discussing how amazing Tony Sutton's career was at Wooster.... 5,613 career rushing yards -  187 yard per game average.   80 rushing TD's.  WOW.....   Wooster....  er... we all need..... to find another Tony Sutton.

Thanks! and yeah, he'd really be helpful for everyone. But based on our preview, we probably need him a bit more than you guys  :)

And Schwami: I saw it, thanks so much! And I hope you really enjoy Wooster (though hopefully that fun doesn't include a win ;) ) and I agree with Wally, the hot dogs are really good. If you're there about an hour before (if I remember right) you'll be able to hear the pipers warming up, and then about 2 minutes before the start of the game they'll do what I think is one of the best traditions in college sports, and lead the football team onto the field playing Scotland the Brave.

On the football board, it is mainly 'bash; on the basketball board, it is dominated by Woo fans.  (Despite their usual excellence in both sports, Witt posters are essentially an extinct breed - if they ever existed at all.)

Ah ok. Thanks for the heads up

There used to be a few Witt fans but it's been years since we heard from them.

I am always amazed at how this happens. I get that it generally rises and falls with victories, but for a team like Witt, with a long period of sustained excellence, to be essentially invisible is very strange. I understand why I'm really the only W&L poster, and I get why the Bridgewater guys have mostly disappeared, though one or two usually come back after they roll through their perennially pathetic non-conf schedule, but it seems weird there are no Witt posters, no Centre posters, etc...

These boards are so much better when there are more teams represented.

This has been a problem on the OAC board for years.  Even when teams like Berg or Ott would emerge as #2 there would be no posters to speak of (I think each had 1 player's parent posting).  BW has no representation and hasn't for long stretches.  But Witt is the most perplexing of all to me because they're a regular playoff participant with a long history of success.  You'd think they'd have nearly as many posters as Wabash.

I guess we should all be thankful all the boards aren't like the SAA board!

I think in general traffic on message boards as a whole is down.  I like to participate in several message boards and have for years but I've noticed a significant decrease in posters and posts in the last 2-3 years.  I think it may have something to do with social media like Twitter.  People are utilizing that more and forums like this less.

That aside, rumor around central Ohio is that OWU dominated Otterbein in their scrimmage.  Can anyone here comment on that rumor?
