With Parks and Pediford both with 4.3 or better speed

This is just a disconnect from reality.  I don't think you understand how fast a 4.3 forty is.  There are zero guys who run (legitimately timed) 4.3 playing Division III football.
I was small but made up for it by being slow...

With Parks and Pediford both with 4.3 or better speed, and fast players on the d-line, linebackers, and defensive backs, Wabash has plenty of defensive speed and you can see the results.

I think Wabash is much, much faster than Depauw. I do not think either Parks or Pettiford run a 4.3 40.

Might be, but I wouldn't be surprised if there wasn't. The men's indoor 60 meter champion ran at 6.75 seconds. 40 yards is 36.6% of 60 meters, so in theory that's a 4.12 40 yard dash. Now that's just stupid, and the reason it's stupid is because it takes a lot more time to go the first 20 yards of a 40 than the last 20 yards, but I think the kid that won the 60 meter championship, or those close, could probably get real close to a 4.3 40.

The question then becomes are they taller than 5'7" and can they catch while running a route. If the answer to both is yes, they probably aren't playing DIII. Which means I agree with Ex, but I also think you could have a kid out there that COULD run a 4.3. I just don't think he can do the things that would help you win football games at the same time...

Just for fun, the kid that finished first goes to a school without football. The second and third place kids are both at WIAC schools but neither appears on the stat sheet for the most recent game at receiver.

DePauw can't even get ranked.

Hashtag Twenty Six.

Unfortunately for them they're in the lowly NCAC and they're colors aren't red and white.
If only DePauw was in the OAC, then they would definitely be ranked and probably ranked very high.

Gonna be a fun few weeks here, isn't it?

I don't think sigma one is saying a whole lot other than DePauw has some good players now (this is true) and they're not the awful bunch we've seen over the last 3-4 years (side bar- I don't think last year's group was awful, just green.  They're less so now, and it shows).  DePauw has a pretty good team.  No harm in seeing that and saying that.

If both Wabash and DPU are ranked after Week 10, will this be the first time that both have been ranked in the Top 25 when facing off for the Monon Bell?

Johnny Here-And-Now mentioned 1981 (say hello to President Kerstetter for us).  Definitely the first time in the D3football.com Top 25 era.  IF they can make it.  #TwentySix

The only time DePauw has been ranked going into the Bell game in the D3football.com Top 25 era was 2010 and...welp.

Pretty sure they would run it better than the Colts did.

Knock the Colts punt play all you want but if Michigan ran that play they'd have won the game.

They would have found a way to fumble that snap too.

For guys who held a 7-0 lead on mighty Kenyon at halftime Saturday, you fellers are mighty giddy.

You asked a history question -- given the hours (and sanity) I lost doing the Monon Memories, I have it handy.  In '81, W was #4 (with 24 straight games without a loss) and D was #9.  That's back in the day when only 8 teams went to the playoffs and we both got screwed. And for the record, Dick Rosser was president. :)

Also important to say (again, as we both have) that the polls have holes.  See 2008 and, as you note, 2010 as recent examples.

"Or better" is what is making me consider canceling my flight to Cincy Friday and flying to Cleveland so I can see "or better" in person.  Does Wabash still wear all white on the road?  That would be a cool visual.

7-0...also about to be the Wabash record in the series since 2009. So there's that.
