I agree that the shallow cross is what Wabash will have to come up with a good plan to defend.  IMO, someone will have to be specifically assigned to cover that player(s).  Albion's use of that is what essentially "killed"  Hope when they played us, albeit in a somewhat more "even" game due to the continued rain throughout the entire game.  As I recall (while trying to stay dry and warm on the sidelines ;D), Albion ran it right, then left, then a running play and used that sequence substantially throughout the game.   Anyway, it will be interesting to see how Wabash defends them IF Wabash is going to make any major changes in their defensive scheme significantly.

To quote Nick Saban, people run through them like **** through a tin horn.

I have no idea what this means, but using Saban's tone as a clue, I don't think it's good.

I think this is something that Wabash has seen bits and pieces of throughout the season.  I think Denison used this idea to try and get DuShawn Brown the ball (he got blown up on one of these shallow crosses and that was kind of the end of that).

One thing that has happened since the Wittenberg game is that teams have tried to pass the ball against Wabash with quick, short routes.  Almost everybody has had at least a little success with this approach.  But nobody has been able to run against Wabash (except for Matt Hunt in what was basically a wildcat approach last week) and it's HARD to run the 10+ plays that you need to have that kind of screen/quick out kind of drive pay off against this defense before you hold, a pass gets thrown in the dirt, and you get behind schedule.  You really have to be close to perfect.

Albion clearly runs what they run really well.  Whether they've played against a top tier defense or not, 600 yards per game is bananas.  Clearly they go fast and they execute.  It's going to be fun to see what Bona does on Saturday.

One other thing that I'm seeing here as I peruse some stats...whatever the outcome on Saturday, the Week 1 rematch next season is going to look very different.  Bona, Czarnecki, Parks, McKoy, McCall, Mayone, Slotnick- that's about 95% of Albion's offense- are seniors.

Looks like we are going to have a cold, sloppy track in Crawfordsville tomorrow.

NCAC All Conference Teams announced.  Congrats to Wabash for taking three of the four top awards.   Wabash and DePauw make up the vast majority of those named to the first teams.

Brian Parks is not a first team DB?  Clerical error, I assume.

Congrats to all the Little Giants who made the All Conference Teams and to Zurek and McCullum for being named Offensive and Defensive Players of the Years.  Congrats to Coach Raeburn for being named Coach of the Year.  You are all some Little Giants.

Brian Parks had an outstanding year - just ask Witt about Parks.  I am pleased that he made Honorable Mention, but his work this year merited more recognition.

Eddie Cmehil also had an outstanding year and I believe should have made First Team All Conference.

Good luck with Albion tomorrow.  I expect good things from all the LG's tomorrow, especially Brian and Eddie who have some extra incentive to show the pundits their true abilities.

Noticed again in this week's Wabash game notes and on the telecast last week that ER is coaching from the pressbox.  Has he been doing that all season?

No. I think it started maybe around the Wooster game.

Tremendous Game Notes this week,  (They are always good)....  The shear amount of statistics in this one is amazing.

Thanks to Brent and the entire team at Wabash for their time.  Truly one of the Best!

This weather is insanity.

Similar weather to Wabash playing Whitewater in quarter finals against Whitewater in 2007...Whitewater was very successful throwing the ball in the crazy weather
