Old Pal Wes,

Where is the Beech Grove QB if he's so amazing?

ACL. On the shelf for the year. Just happened last week. He was #2 on the depth chart.

Had moved up the depth chart pretty steadily since camp. Got named the backup last week. Parent told me it was literally the same day.

EDIT: You scoff. You don't think I'm right about him, it appears, based on your little cheap shot there. Go ask somebody else, then. If you choose not to believe me, that's fine. Do your own research. His film is out there. Ask literally anyone else that's seen him play. DePauw got a player they never should have gotten because he insisted on playing two sports and a lot of places wouldn't let him do that.

Wes,

Easy Gunner.  Honest question.  Outside looking in not knowing about the ACL it looked like he was 4th string.  I know Bill from their Brownsburg days.

Sorry to hear about the injury.

He's also got a ton of D1 studs to make stops after they don't convert. It helps that whole system work when you make stops.

I realize what the data says. I'm 100% on board with the concept on paper. But giving up 60+ each week because you turn it over on downs 7 times in your own end is a real good way to get fired. There's a bit of self-preservation in punting, too.

To me, it's not about going to this extreme. It's about, if you have a good offense, and don't have a good punter, what the benefit is to giving up the ball to get maybe 30 yards in field position on a 4th and 3 from your own 40?

I'd like to see more aggresiveness from teams, but you don't need to go for it on 4th and 12 from your own 8 in the 1st quarter.

Speaking of ACL's, word is that Hiram's Randy Tucker is done for the season with a knee injury.

^Yup. I heard that too. It's almost eerie... three years ago, Partridge was on pace to SHATTER school records when he went down in week 4 with a season ender. Tucker was also on pace to break several school records. Such a shame for this young man.

I honestly don't know how we expect to beat anyone other than Oberlin and Kenyon now. Tucker was such a difference maker when he controlled the ball. If we can get 3.5 YPC out of Robinson that will make life a lot easier for Stanford calling plays.

Any word on who has been named starter?

I believe the kid from Harvest Prep, Myers...he played pretty well last week.
Maybe they can catch a break (or two) and upset Wooster or OWU.
But I agree, 4 wins would be an optimistic ceiling for the Terriers.

Is Wabash playing Denison tomorrow or UMHB? Because the head coach of Wabash thinks we're playing UMHB. This attitude is amazing. We have to play perfectly to *have a chance* to beat *DENISON*. A team we haven't lost to since 1990.

If y'all think this is okay......

OK. No one got hurt...so this is funny!

What they don't say is what happened when filming resumed.

I'm an ass. I didn't mean to disrespect Denison. They're good. They may very well win this game. But damn, that quote grates me something fierce.

I could imagine he was Lou Holtzing it, but he probably would have had to say that "Kenyon's got some fine players and we need to play our best..." to make that stick.
