August 22nd scrimmage is actually against INDIANA Wesleyan.  1st year program in NAIA.  I triple checked this with the alumni email I received earlier this week.

I guess when you have 160+ football players it takes two scrimmages to get a look at everyone!

This is a new thing starting last year (I think).  With increased restrictions on what is allowed in a football practice and how many practices a team can have, one consolation that teams were given is permission to have a second joint practice (call it a scrimmage if you want) with another team.  Interesting that Wabash is doing these joint practices so close to one another, but I guess you take it as you can schedule it.

Given the timing and if IN Wesleyan is a first year program is that one potentially a freshmen/JV scrimmage?

That's certainly one way to do it.  The sense I've had about these second "scrimmages" is that they often run more like a collaborative practice and less like an actual competitive game situation.  And then you still get to have the more traditional, competitive game-style dress rehearsal the week before the opener.

Hello Wabash and Hiram fans

I'll be at the game on Sept. 1. Will any of you be the game? Would love to meet some of you. Hey, I have no bias. I'll talk to fans from both teams. In the interim, good luck Little Giants and good luck Terriers. I'll sneak in a good luck to the Raiders, who play the same day at 7:00 pm. ☠🏈

Just glanced at the roster for Wabash - aside from returning players like Ike James and Oliver Page, a new name that sticks out is Niah Williamson.  Read the bio referring to him playing in Williamsport, it was very modest, he was the best player on that team, and a true 3 sport athlete at New Castle.  Lit up the stat sheet at New Castle on the gridiron, so excited to see him compete at QB.  Would not be surprised at all to see him taking meaningful snaps at some point soon.

Was just scanning the schedules for Savannah State and Eastern Michigan. Creighton and Raeburn both have interesting match ups on Sept. 8. Eastern Michigan plays Purdue at Purdue. Savannah State plays Miami at Miami. Good luck to both former Wabash coaches this season. Nate Scola is on staff at Savannah State as Running Backs coach. He should know a little about running backs...he planted several of them playing for Wabash.

EMU at Purdue is super juicy.  That is going to be a fun game,

Also Tony Neymeiyer is coaching with Reaburn.

A new name has appeared on the Wabash football coaching roster: Joe Riordan.

No bio attached as of yet.

That's all I've got!

I believe he was the defensive coordinator at Anderson last year and didn't make the new staff. Came from Webber (Montana) where he was special teams coordinator/Db's there for a few years. Indiana native, went to Ball State

Yeah, I saw that guy as I did my digging.  I think he is on the coaching staff for Mt. St. Joseph now:

Rodney Myers and Randy Tucker will have a QB battle going into camp.

I still hold firm, if Tucker is healthy, he's a premier QB in the conference. But time will tell.

Well, he may have been at MSJ for a couple weeks and jumped to Wabash, which would be a much better job I would think.

Or it could be the Joe Riordan, FB Coach, in the grassy knoll.

'Bash fans... How's the secondary looking this year. Unless I'm wrong, I recall the secondary really struggling against Hiram, and one of the primary reasons it was even a close game.
