I'd like to speak with the guy at the league office who started Hiram's conference schedule with Wabash, Wittenberg, and Depauw

That is a rough start and I understand your frustration.  I watched the Hiram / Wabash game on the internet and was impressed with how Hiram's coaching staff approached the game.  I suspect there will be good things coming from Hiram soon.

On a side note, I remember a few years ago that it seemed like every time Wabash was playing a tough game that might determine if they would compete for a conference title, that their opponent always had a bye week before that game.  Oddly I see Wabash has a bye this week then plays at Dennison, so maybe in the long run it will all work itself out (?).

UST's first home game against a D1-Pioneer League opponent this Saturday is Butler, who played Depauw in week 2 and won 49-24.

Trying to twist my brain to somehow guess at an outcome based on that D3 outcome, as well as our 38-7 win over Wabash way back in 2015 (in a year that Wabash beat Depauw 45-17). Not sure any of that is of any meaningful significance, but gotta look at the tea leaves that are available to me.

I'm a life long Wabash fan, but spent 2018 (?) at SJU being a resident scholar.  I was at the last Johnnie Tommie game that was played at SJU.  MIAC student athletes looked to be bigger and faster than NCAC athletes, so I suspect the Tommies will give Butler a much better game than Depauw did, and I would not be surprised is St Thomas wins the game.  But I'm a life long Wally, so my prejudices against Depauw might factor into that. 😇

I'm not sure how much of a read you'd get from Butler vs. DePauw, but Butler has played some more competitive games against Franklin and Wittenberg at times when both of those teams were very good and playoff caliber teams.  That's probably the zone you're looking at for where Butler translates to the D3 spectrum- maybe D3 top 10 or 15-ish?  I think UST is probably in decent shape this weekend.

Give me the Tommies all day.  Butler is not good.  Beating DePauw means nothing.

But they did knock off Youngstown State two seasons ago, so I'm not sure you can sell them short.
It's either a thoughtful comment or smartass sarcasm. Recognize the difference.

I like Ryan's take on the Quick Hit question, "what game will you be following...". All four NCAC games look to be interesting and might give us some clarity around how our teams compare to one another.

I'm watching the Oberlin / Kenyon game.  I'm impressed with the broadcast announcers and it is a good game too.

St. Thomas 36, Butler 0

After watching the Johnnie Tommie game a few years ago, I'm not surprised the Tommies dominated Butler.

That was some really mature stuff out of Denison tonight.  Witt hit two bombs early, tacked on a FG and was up 16-0 in the first 10 minutes of the game.  The Big Red score the last 21 points while completely shutting down Witt's offense over the last 50 minutes of game time to get the 21-16 win.  Denison's go ahead TD came on a 19-play, 9 minute and 55 second soul sucking drive that stretched over the third and fourth quarters.  Wittenberg ran 21 plays in the the entire second half.

This thing had the makings of a 47-7 route, and Denison just decided that wasn't gonna happen tonight.  Really, really impressive stuff.  Wabash @ Denison next Saturday is going to be tremendous.

Thanks for the love from Adam, Ryan and Adam in quick hits, now it's up to the Little Giants.

Four really good games in the NCAC again this week.  Nice to see.  Congrats to Wabash and what a gutsy call to go for 2 in OT.

That was a great play call on the 2 pt. play.  Perfectly baited DU to leak that guy out to the left.
