There are four viable candidates from what I have heard at QB for the Little Giants. Harbaugh, Huff, Neighbors and Hasty.

Can Wabash really have 4 contenders for QB.  I have been around some really good programs in my day, haveing one or two QB's who could step in, and the level of play wouldn't drop all that much if any at all.  But I would have to say 4 QB's that all could step in and the quality of the offense wouldn't take a hit!  That is pretty rare.  As a coach, I would have to say if they are that good of an athlete, they need to be on the field...somewhere!  Now mabey I am wrong, but I don't see a program shuch as Wabash wasting 3 quality athletes, when they could still contribute on the field.

Valid point tiger alum, but where is Wabash going to stick any of the other three guys that don't get the starting qb job?  It certainly won't be on defense as Wabash is loaded with talent and experience on D...in fact, Wabash already has moved some guys from defense to offense because there are just simply too many good players on D and not enough spots for all of them.  You could think about moving one of these guys to WR, but Wabash is loaded at WR too.  The only other spot where a guy might go is RB where Wabash could use some help.  But the only one of these four qbs that might be an improvement over anybody else Wabash will use at RB is Huff.  So even if you move Huff to RB (and who knows if that would even work) you still have three guys who are trying to make the team as a quarterback because that's really their best chance to contribute....unless any of these guys can kick, but I think Wabash is ok there too.

I know this is a football board but I thought this may be interesting to the Wabash guys:

Now back to football.

Thanks for the plug--Yes, again Wabash is in the upper tier of national liberal arts colleges in a number of categories!  We hope that '05 football will also elevate the school!

I say if any of them can kick, they're more than welcome Wally.  I know my gut sinks anytime I see our kicking team trotting onto the field.

Well...except when it was Olmy, and that was only because the straight-on is awesome.

Hey Hunter, will you be making the trip to W&J this year?  That might be the only game I make it to and even that's not guaranteed yet.

BashDad

Bashbrother:

Any read on which games you might be able to get to yet?
Is there a possibility for either October game in Ohio?  I know that's when things will be cranking up for you, but I
could pick you up in Columbus and deposit you back there after.  I'm getting antsy--looking forward to the "Kick-off" later today.

GoBash - I think you will be pleasantly surprised with our kicking game this year.  Finley & Vaughan (kicking & punting) are both booming and I expect that to be solid.  Early reports also indicate that Coach Lemmond is a great addition to the staff and doing a great job with special teams.  Hopefully this will show on the field from game 1.

Pound for pound (in the weightroom), is there a stronger guy in the conference then DE, Temarco White?  I watched practice Sunday and he is like trying to block a large oak tree.  I can't wait to see this D on Saturdays!

Smeds - not sure who you've been talking to but I think that is a reach to think that 4 guys are in the hunt???

Scotty - not sure if it was you that made the comment about the Scot RB group, I would much rather defend "fresh legs by committee" then Mr. Tony Sutton - in the 4th quarter!!!

scotty

BashBacker90, agreed but hes coaching now...i guess my point was that it looks like an evenly matched group of running backs this year...4 or 5 guys have the tools but we'll have to see...you only get a Tony Sutton every once in a while but i like what is coming...

Just so we're clear..."every once in a while" equals roughly 116 years which also equals the length of time the College of Wooster has been playing collegiate football.  You could have 47 guys battling for time at RB and none of them are going to be Tony Sutton.  They won't be Tony Sutton in the first quarter or in the fourth quarter or on Mars.

Wooster's offense has to come from somewhere else this year and his name is Elw..er...Schafer.  As Schafer goes, so will go the Scot offense in 2005.
