I know this is an odd topic, but I was wondering what people's thoughts are about Kenyon LB Casey McConnell.  He finished 2nd in the nation in total tackles as a freshman, 3rd as a sophomore, 15th as a junior, redshirted last year and the Lords' D fell apart, and is now sitting 2nd in the conference in total tackles, but I don't think he's ever been better than honorable mention all-conference.  Is this because Kenyon performed so bad?  People thought his stats were inflated like the Gunn brothers?  People didn't/don't think he's all that good?  Just curious.

QuoteI think Wooster will underestimate Bash's team speed and talent on both sides.

Honestly speaking, that is laughable.  The last thing Wooster would ever do is underestimate Wabash . . . especially after coming off of a loss to KENYON!!!  If anything Wooster underestimated their opponent last week.  Not this week.  Not against Wabash.  Not on homecoming.  Not at the Papp.

Wooster will play to the best of its ability.  The players and coaches know how good Wabash is, and they'll take the field Saturday to try to be at least 1 point better.

No doubt McConnell is a player.  He was basically they only thing that Kenyon had.  It's like the person that leads the nation in interceptions.  Are they that good, or do teams feel like they can throw thier way?  If there was someone close to the same amount of tackles as McConnell on Kenyon it would speak higher of his talent.  As always.

Apone,

I did not mean for the comment to be a slam of any kind towards Wooster.  I know each side respects one another, their programs, etc.  What I meant was that I think they will be surprised at Bash's overall speed on both sides of the ball including special teams.  Analogy to try to explain...did you ever play hoops in high school?  You know you are a playing a good team and you are ready to play.  They tip the ball and the next thing you know they are throwing oops, fast breaking, and you look up at the scoreboard and you are down 10 before you know it.  In short, I think Woo will be a bit surprised, that's it.  I know they will be ready to play.

Darkside - don't forget about the iso request on Pynenberg #40, you'll likely know his number by the end of the day...  ;D

I have seen Casey play in all but one of his college football games, and to say he is just a player is an  understatement! Being that I played on the D-Line I can tell you the backers couldn"t do  there job if I didn't do mine. He was constantly being blocked by a couple of O lineman his first three years, and if he didn't have a heart the size of an elephant he wouldn't have put up the numbers that he did. He now has some lineman in front of him that can hold the line of scrimmage, thus giving him a oppurtunity to make big plays. When hatfield an casey played together they made a great pair, thelords don't get recognition because of the past records ,and little respect because of it. With a win like last week, I hope they can build on it and turn the corner ,and into a team not of the lower tier, but to the middle and then higher if the staff stays and the lords can increase the numbers. Casey deserves a better shake from the conf. coaches,to say he deserves only honorable mention is a joke!

Bashdad:
Thanks for the well wishes for tomorrow.  Yes, I HOPE we'll be back on the "W" side tomorrow.  It is Homecoming for us and, if "history" is followed, we should beat WCL.  However, they are a much better team than some give credit, and the way we've been playing...well, all I can say is that we should not take them lightly.

Likewise, while on the "overview" of the situation, I think that Wabash should handle Wooster handily, yet it is at the latter's home and they should not be taken lightly either as they are capable of pulling the upset.  Anyway, good luck to your 'Bash - it should be a good game.

P.S.  It is my understanding that the weather is predicted for another great fall weekend day tomorrow in the Midwest.

Teamline is a little choppy...... Buffering may be an issue.

Game On!
Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Buffering is clearly an issue. Oh well. I just set $20 on fire.
