Yes, my friends Kenyon is in Amish country.  Not too far from Mount Vernon, Killbuck or even Millersburg.  I guess I should say that Amish live in the area as they do around Wooster and will sometimes visit Gambier as well as other towns in this part of Ohio. I promise if you come to the game you will see at least a few horse drawn buggies.
Just don't know which side we will sit on. Probably OWU's since Wooster still has to play them. Looks to be a cloudy and rainy day, however.

Another complete preview of Saturday's Wabash/Witt game on L'il Giant's "Sports-Home" page today.  Quiet intensity as we move toward the clash at Hollett.  Looks like we may need our rain gear this weekend unless the front moves on through.

Good luck to NCAC teams--my wishes for safe, injury-free play to all.  This should be the most defining week so far in the conference.  Unfinished business is at the center of things as Wabash welcomes Witt to C-ville!

Don't know if anyone mentioned this and I am not about to scroll through pages and pages to find out if it was...

Even though Harbaugh didn't win the NCAC POTW this week, he did get the nod on the D3football.com Team of the Week.  That seems to me to be a higher honor so at least there is some sense of redemption in C-Ville.

Reality Check:

Old history, L'il Giants are only concerned with what is ahead--Witt is next, and it's at our place.

I'd have to agree with Nike on this one.  It may not be the heart of Amish country in Ohio, but there are still plenty of Amish in Knox county.

Well, I was happy Russ was named to the D-3 team. I think the NCAC POW is weak, as it were.

Yes, Amish are abundant in the Gambier area, unfortunately.  I havent really been paying much attention to the venue of OWU Kenyon, but I am guessin its at Gambier.  At which case, you will all be sitting on Kenyon side.

Bashdad

It might be old history to you but Bashbrother was filling the NCAC president's and vice president's inboxes with complaints and soliciting others to do so last I read.  You might not care anymore but I mentioned it b/c some Bash faithful sure seemed PO'ed about it ealier this week.  I am just happy Harbaugh's great day was recognized by someone.

With that said, please tell the appropriate powers that be to win by at least 22 points this weekend.  That will really help me out.

Right on both counts- the game is in Gambier, and there are only stands on one side of the field- the other side has a nice view of a park.

Thanks for your support.  It's a good season so far for the L'il Giants, lots ahead to finish whats been started by this fine team.  We'll talk about it after its all over.  One game at a time--Witt is next for us.

Good luck in Alliance this weekend.  Like others, I feel that ONU will be the only one during the regular season that can seriously challenge Mt. Union.  I hope to be proven wrong with my pick on the OAC "pick-em's."

Can't guarantee the spread in C-ville this Saturday--of course, I thought the same thing as I drove to Wooster last weekend. ;)  Again, I hope Wally is right!

congrats to harbaugh on team of the week. he looked great against wooster, and definitely deserved NCAC player of the week too. wabash's offense looked downright scary.

i'd be pretty surprised if wabash blows witt out. wooster had everything go its way against witt last year for the first 2.5 quarters (up 48-17 at one point)...then holmes caught fire like nothing i've ever seen at this level. wabash got very little pressure on schaffer. if they give holmes that much time, you'll have a shootout on your hands. while i certainly hate witt, i also know they'll put up points on wabash, and won't be intimidated whatsoever. unlike wooster, witt will also run the ball all day until wabash stops them. wabash may win, but this one should be a great game for 60 minutes.

as for the scots...time to bounce back and take out some frustration on oberlin. the playoffs and NCAC title are no longer realistic, but winning out would still make for a great season.

woo's underclassmen should thank coach creighton for the extra off-season motivation coming from that bomb wabash threw with two minutes left on saturday. what was the deal with that? awhile back, someone brought up the possibility of wabash trying to "take out" holmes...all we heard in response was "a chris creighton coached team would never do anything unsportsmanlike, yada yada yada." hmm, something doesn't add up. with everything wooster has returning for next year, that wasn't too smart, and it won't be forgotten any time soon...payback's a b-tch.

darkside--never knew your hometown was amish country...so is that how you spent your weekends back in the day? did you really pick up your date in a horse and buggy for your senior prom?

lancer--bexley 28, lakewood 18...last year it was 64-0...what's with that program these days? maybe tyson and jace can come out of retirement.

Smed -

I received an interesting response to the email I sent the NCAC league office regarding the POW selection process.

I was shocked, but impressed, that they even responded.

Relax, rabbi.  The backup qb was in the game.  He gets to throw one, maybe two passes per game.  That Wooster let somebody get behind the secondary (for about the 74th time in the game) isn't his fault.  I don't think that play's primary target was deep.  If Wooster's secondary could have covered anything last Saturday, this probably wouldn't be an issue.

Wooster can take this perceived slight and use it as motivation (even though I doubt seriously that there was any malicious intent behind that play).  That's fine, and I hope they do.  Everybody plays better when they think they've got something to prove and that can only help the overall level of the conference.

Ravishin' Rab...no, I didn't pick up my date in a Buggy.

Its all good wally, that was our back up db in the game.  I agree though about the getting beat deep all day.  Except I have a feeling that your comments are to insinuate that Wooster needs to become more competitive in the conference.

As for Witt coming out and throwing the ball around.  I don't see it happening.  Last year Witt saw what Bash did in the second half of the game against Woo, yet Witt still tried to run the ball on Woo.  I would have thought it was obvious that all they had to do was throw the ball on Woo to win.  Who knows, maybe Fincham or whatever decided to learn a lesson and pay attention to film.

Oh, Kenyon Kid...that park would be the Gambier Community Center.  Enlighten me, is it still a dive?
