Just back from C-ville, what a game!  I knew that Witt would give us all we wanted.  Holmes, Murray and Glover  did themselves proud today.  Their O-Line protected Holmes well in the first half--as others have said, it was Bash D pressure on Holmes in the second half that allowed us to win this game.  This was really a "team" win--smart, controlled.  Congratulations L'il Giants! Gheney is next!

Thanks to OWU & ONU on great wins this weekend!  Might we see MUC in C'ville sometime after the Bell Game? ::)

Just saw where DePauw won their 500th game, placing them 19th in D3 in victories.  So I wondered, Where does Wabash rank on this list?  With 556 wins coming into this season, we rank 7th.  Wittenberg is 1st with 651 (!) wins coming into this season.

Although our playoff history is brief, it has been fairly successful (2-1 in 1977, 2-1 in 2002).  DePauw's playoff record?  Well...

The HCAC is pretty sorry.  I'm not sure Rose can go into that conference and take over, per se, but I think they can be competitive.  Coach Karras has done a pretty good job there so far.

Quick prediction for a score next week....I'll take Mount Union 184, Baldwin-Wallace 0.  Man, is it gonna suck to be those guys.

Mr. Ypsi

Agreed, I would NOT want to be the Mount's next opponent.  But I think you are exaggerating - I'd only see it as 141-0!  ;D

Once again, great game yesterday in C-Ville.

Bash's theme going into the game was "Who are We?"  Yesterday, I think we had a chance against a very game opponent to begin to answer that question.

In a strange way, I am actually glad the game was like it was.
Bash had been down in a game only twice in the first 6 games and never more then 7 points.  Plus, they haven't been behind for very long,  only about 5 minutes total.  As we saw on Saturday, we for the first time had to fight back from a two score deficit.

I think the Witt dogfight can only help Bash for the balance of the season and a possible playoff run.  Who are We? against Witt, we were more then a defensive team or a team with a powerful offense.  Yesterday, we were a TEAM.

Allegheny will not give anything away, and we need to be ready.  This Wabash class has never defeated the Gators, at least as starters, and it is a long road trip.  Although, I believe Wabash is the better team, we learned in 2003, anything can happen over in Meadville.
Why should you go for it on 4th down?

Kenyon. Beautiful campus. Decent game. But several Kenyon fans were the most vulgar I have ever heard.
I am NOT saying all or most, just a few. All seating is together and it was easy to hear people cheering and protesting calls. Several Kenyon fans (men) were using the most profane four letter words in their tirades against the officials. Were there bad calls? Absolutely.  But I was embarrased for Kenyon supporters because of these few people.
Good game until Coombs got hurt. He certainly would have made the score somewhat closer. No rain for the majority of the game.
OWU's quarterback might as well be a running back. Don't think they will get by Witt. And Wooster will give them all they can handle, although OWU should beat the Scots.
If OWU does win out, do they have a shot at the playoffs?

Kenyon had fans? Wow!  ;D

There are way too many good one-loss teams for OWU to be considered. They need a miracle.

Wabash enters the d3football.com top 25 this week at #22.  I was a little surprised to see Wabash leapfrog UW-Lacrosse.  I guess at some point the voters have to decide that 3-3 is 3-3 and you can only keep a .500 team ranked very high for so long.

Other interesting poll notes...ONU climbs 10 spots to #10, MUC drops to #6, and UW-WW jumps over both Rowan and St. John's to assume the #2 spot.  Needless to say, there was plenty of top 25 shakeup this week.

Wally - just got some photos back from yesterday's game.  Looks like you were hanging out under the stadium when the team came out before the kickoff.  What did you think?  Had you done that before or was that the first time???

I'm with BashBro with yesterday's game comments in that it was good to see Wabash rally while trailing parts of the game.  I wish the O could have scored in the 4th for breathing room but it couldn't sustain a long drive.  Harbaugh made some clutch throws yesterday under pressure.  Our WR corps continues to impress - with their hands and their yards after the catch.  It seemed Holmes was gimpy towards the end with what appeared to be a hip problem.  He took some shots in the 2nd half and I am glad Bash started bringing the heat!  Overall I think Witt played an excellent game - nearly flawless 1st half keeping the Bash O off the field.  Foster's INT was huge in the 2nd half and the Bash D buckled down when the game was on the line.  Great win!

Now for the Gators...

Go Bash!!!

BB16-

The team got to the tunnel before I was able to get up to my spot in the stands, so I got to see the pregame chant up close and personal.  Very cool stuff....very intense.  That was the first time I'd seen it up close.

Mother Nature must know it's Wabash week in Meadville....lots of rain forecasted throughout the week.

Well I went 1-4 in pick-em....I have Hurricane Wilma knocking on my back door.......but it will still be a great weekend because of the Bash win on Saturday!

I like the way Bash entered the top 25 this year.  They earned every vote!

Yeah, the HCAC is not the mighty mighty NCAC.  So what!  Who cares?  Oh, you do.  My bad!

GO BLUE!  GO LIONS!

Finally back from watching the Colts beat up on the Texans. Man, they have lousy fans. Anyway, here's the Wabash Victory HaikuTM:
