This may of been discussed already but how does Albion get in with 3 L's?

By winning the MIAA and therefore earning the conference's automatic bid to the playoffs.

cufan:
Many people said that about Albion and the MIAA back in 1994.  All they did was win the Stagg that year, although admittedly with a little luck.  But then again, that applies to any team that wins it all.  As Bashdad alludes to, I can't imagine that the Wabash/Albion game won't be a hard fought exciting contest  However, anything can happen in these playoffs as we all know.

BB16,

Nice report, I could not agree more.  Our favorite BB guy has been relaxed and is ready for battle.  No game is going to be easy.  I really believe if the L'il Giants play thier game, they will be hard to beat.  As always.

The MIAA has been down but I think it's rebounding a bit. There's still a couple of dogs (Wisc. Lutheran and Tri-State).

Interesting note I stumbled across. The Michigan P.A. announcer, who is retiring after 33 years after doing this Saturday's Ohio State game, is a Wooster grad.

BashBacker#16

Darkside - thanks for the post.  Sorry, just tired of feeling like we don't have a shot when I feel we can make a run.

BashDad - did you read the wrong 2-deep for Saturday?  Albion runs a 3-man front and they go 6' 250, 6'1 237, and 6'4 241 - is that huge?

We need to put pressure on Wasil all afternoon.  I hope we mix blitzing backers all day long (up the middle, off the edges, etc.) and don't wait until the 2nd half...cut them loose from the first series.  Selby and Foster could be huge off the corners.  I don't think their D is a lock down/shut down D and expect Harbaugh to have a big day.

I am still going with a score similar to a 35-20 or a 31-17.  I think our D causes some TOs and our O will give us some big plays early.

FS4 - you my wing man again?  Bring your sidekick too, that was a good time last week!

Go Bash!

I'm there.  Sidekick will also be there.  Can't wait until tomorrow.  As always.

My final weather outlook for tomorrow...at gametime it's going to be cold, somewhere around the mid 30s and mostly sunny.  It's going to be breezy, perhaps enough to be a factor.  My suggestion...coats, gloves, and chapstick.

See you at the Hollett.  Go Wabash!

GO BASH!!!!

You are in the playoffs because you belong.  Don't look past anyone and don't sell yourself short.  Learn from Woo's trip to the big-time, last year.

MY TAKE:

Woo went in glad to be there, but somewhat reluctant to think that they had a chance to go all the way.  Don't go there, DREAM BIG!

The game of football becomes more of a chess match in the playoffs.  The players and coaches must exert every ounce of their ability to be successful.  Last years final game for Woo was lost every bit as much on the sidelines as it was on the field.

The games are played on the field, so everyone has a chance.  Looking back at last year, after all is said and done, Woo could have gone all the way.   Don't leave any should-ofs or could-ofs to haunt you later, be prepared and play to take it all.

BashDad

Nice job, Jim Amidon!  Everything looks to be as close on paper as I think the game could be.  I hope the L'il Giants can break out early through some mistakes spawned by our D pressure.  That would be a nice bonus, particularly since it would appear that we will again have some wind factor tomorrow.  Six, eight, ten yard passes are likely to be the key for us--keep the chains moving with the short passing game and the running game!  I expect to see some big numbers tomorrow, even though there will be a chill in the air.  Effective defense will be huge, opening the door to offensive success.  Can't wait!

Best of luck to all D-III teams in action tomorrow--for Wabash, one game at a time is still the answer to realizing all of our goals.  The mission is a "go," and every week will be a real test.  Tomorrow it's Albion!

Go, Bash!

Bashdad:
I will be able to make it to the game.  I will be traveling down with my former college teammate/roommate and his wife; their son plays for Albion.  Looking forward to meeting you tomorrow.  Not sure what time we'll be there but where could we meet?  At halftime perhaps?  Let me know if you can; we're leaving tonight somewhere between 7-8:00 PM.  Good luck to both teams for a great game.
