I think if you asked a member of the Captial Offense or any of the coaches from the team they would put Wabash in the top two or three defenses they faced all year.

BashBacker#16, here is the answer to your question, in order:

1.) Mt. Union
2.) Ohio Northern
3.) John Carroll
4.) Otterbein

You are not going to like my answer, but you asked.
If I questioned your opinions being totally biased towards the OAC before this post, I have NO doubts about it now.  John Carroll and Ott??!!  Are you for real Crusader??!!  Why don't you ask JimCo at the banquet if he agrees with your list as well?!

From the Wabash release on the Cap game...

Capital running back Jeremy Mulkey:
QuoteThey were flying to the ball all day. This was probably the toughest defense I had to run against the all year.

Capital Head Coach Jim Collins (or JimCo as people who want to be his friend apparently call him):
QuoteThey just battled all day long and never quit. They have heck of a football team. And I'll say this: that's one of the best defenses we played all year.

Now get over yourself already, crusader26.

You know every school has thier moron posters, including Wabash.  I don't think I have to name names.

I spoke to a couple Cap coaches after thier win against us.  I congratulated them on a good win, and wished them luck going into the lions den.  They told me they were very confident going to MUC.  They felt they had played the best team they played this year.  As Always.

I couldn't help but ask this: Is this the first time a Wabash player and DePauw player have been together on the same team? And not just on the same team, but also on the same side of the ball. Eeenteresting....

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

This doesn't have anything to do with this board directly... but SI has posted their All-American squads.

Honorable Mention All-American running back goes to freshman Tyrell Sutton from Northwestern - brother of Woosters Tony Sutton, right?
Wheaton Football: CCIW Champs: 1950, 1953-1959, 1995, 2000, 2002-2004, 2006, 2008, 2012, 2014, 2015, 2019

Mugsy - you are correct.

Congrats to Wabash Offensive Guard Will Certain for making the ESPN's 2nd team District 5 Academic All America Team with a 3.76 GPA.  Here's the complete list...

I see Coach Willis from Wartburg is not going to coach anymore and become the athletic director.

I believe he used to be a Wittenberg assistant coach.  Good to see him moving up, but I bet he'll miss coaching football.

"I'm glad you asked.

Wabash tied with one other team in holding Capital to as few points as they scored all season. (at just 14) Aditionally, here are the box score numbers for Cap's rushing yards and passing yards against the team listed. Against...
...Wabash: 68-171
...Mount (regular season): 68-207
...Mount (postseason): 53-365
...Northern: 117-271
...John Carrol: 161-143
...Otterbein: 74-208"

I don't think the numbers being thrown around can say how each team will play against another. When it comes to BIG games most good teams step up and "PLAY LIKE CHAMPIONS" or go home. I only missed a couple of CAP games this year and IMO would say that Wabash was ONE of the best D's we faced all year.... I feel Wabash D was outstanding and played like CHAMPIONS. "We could have opened it up at any time..... get real. Our O played like they practiced very hard but Wabash was well prepared for the game and kept us in check. There had to be a winner and an almost winner. I don't want to say loser because I don't think you were.

I am not sure whatr the answeer is between Cap's Defense, Wabash Defense and the other teams Cap has played but maybe we should look to the D3 Fantasy league and see how often any of the aforementioned teams were on a roster of the teams and how oftne they were used in the starting lineups.  <G>  Not very scientific but at least these are uniterested parties that had nothing to gain by having predisposed favorites.

Finally, a poster from your planet that speaks some reality.  If you need a safe house or two to stay at for a while, we have connections.  We also have a network of tunnels that can get you out of Ohio quickly.  You will meet a man named "TY" at the park tomorrow to receive further instructions.   ;)

Good luck.

I am going to nominate you for Poster of the Month.

Capital had a fantastic year!

Casy Allen, WR Linfield is headed to the Aztec.   I wonder if Elliott is going?

I understand he's going to the Hula Bowl. They've been taking one (or two) D3 players for a few years.

Crusader 26. Thanks. Maybe you can explain it to 99.
