Kcreds,
So sorry to read of your son's injury. I am sure like all loving parents, your pain is great, too.
These posts are fun and sometimes we get carried away(I know I do), but a child's suffering  is real life. I trust surgery is not needed and he is able to begin preparing for 2007 two-a-days soon. Know that a few Fighting Scots fans will be praying for your son along with others.

On a lighter note, I have already seen Wooster practicing. A lot more players than last year have come out, Sheppard will definitely have some help in the backfield and the motivation seems to be from the disappointment of last year's rapid fall from top dog. Along with the awful whipping they took from the Bishops to end the season.
Well, we shall see shortly.

I'm not a doctor, but I am an ambulance chaser.  ;) . I have two cases going on right now with idiopathic back injuries, including one disc herniation! There is no way of knowing exactly what caused these injuries.

A bulge, depending on how much the disc is protruding and if there is any nerve impingement can be dealt with through therapy pretty well. I have plenty of clients who deal with physical jobs despite bulging discs.

I hope his therapy goes well and he can return to football, and in the long run, his choice of careers.

Wabash Always Fights!

You all have been great! I knew I could count on you guys for support. It is tough but what doesn't kill ya makes you stronger, right? For the first time since I started on this board last year, I asked Jr. to read the replies and he was shocked that supporters of other teams would take the time to support him. He also truly appreciates it. Thanks!

You just heard a little bit of what "Wabash Always Fights" means ... tell your son ... in his rehab efforts ... he can be a Little Giant.  However, understand that Wabash is still going to win.

Injuries suck, but they are a part of life.  From the sounds of it, your son has a pretty good support staff (FAMILY) around him and that will only help him hang in there even thogh things don't look so good now.  Hopefully, with a bit of therapy, Jr. will be back out on the gridiron next season and, more importantly, pursuing his career dreams as well!

Mugsy,

Looking forward to the annual Wabash/Wheaton scrimmage in a couple of weeks (9/2).  It has been a very good early test.  High expectations again in C-ville.  56 Frosh / 121 on the roster.

BB16,
The Wabash/Wheaton scrimmage is a great way to gauge where we are at against a very tough team.  I'd love to see this long standing relationship between Wabash and Wheaton continue with at a minimum a scrimmage and hopefully a continuation of non-conference games like we had back in the 80's.

With all Wabash has coming back from a very successful season last year, there is no doubt the expectations are high - and rightly so.  Should be exciting to see how things go.

First of all, KCREDS / heres hoping that your son has a full recovery.  He will be missed.

As far as Woo's returning lettermen snapshots, I am sure that they are meant to give parents and fans something to chew on prior to opening day.  If you are a parent, it makes for a nice keepsake.  Why anyone from another team would make much of it, is beyond me.

Just some friendly ribbing about the Wooster bios...nothing to get riled up about.  After all, the Wooster football bios "have improved tremendously" and are now "the complete package".  They possess "unparalleled quotability" and will definitely be candidates for all-american status amongst preseason bios.

Quick note about pick 'em for this year...pick 'em is definitely on again in '06.  Go ahead and check out the NCAC Pick 'Em page over in the General Football section for details if you're interested in playing along.

With so much talk around the size of the Wabash o-line and how much speed Wabash is putting on the field this year, I couldn't help but think back to 2002 and the North Region final vs. Mount Union.  Wabash got blasted off the field by a team that was bigger and faster...flash forward four years (a full recruiting cycle) and Wabash is going to be putting out one of the biggest, fastest teams in school history...if not the biggest and fastest.  I can't help but think that Coach Creighton went to school on that December day in 2002 and has since dedicated himself to building a team that resembles the Mount Union team that beat him and eventually won the national championship.

It's an interesting thought, particularly given an earlier comment from somebody comparing Wabash's 2006 line size with that of the Mount Union teams from '01 and '02.  I'm fairly sure that what we're seeing at Wabash now was directly influenced by what happened in Alliance in 2002.  We'll see if it translates into a repeat conference championship and a deep playoff run, but there is certainly good reason for Wabash fans to be excited about this season.

Disclaimer:  I am in no way saying that Wabash is as good as Mount Union or that Wabash is going to win a national championship in 2006.

On the subject of pick-em's, we'll be having our annual OAC Pick-Em's too and it's always open to everyone.  Check us out in a couple weeks.
I find easily offended people rather offensive!

So what you're saying is that Wabash will go undefeated this season, kill Mount Union by a score of 55 - (-11), and win the National Championship?

But will we need Mini Ditka?

If we had Mini Ditka, I would say that Wabash will win the national championship.  But then again, who wouldn't??  :)
