I would also like to send my prayers and support to your son and you and family regarding his back problem.  That is indeed a tough situation to face for an athlete (and anyone as Lil'Giant points out); I have a friend whose son is a h.s. football player and is going through the exact same thing right now.  We all hope he can return to the sport eventually, yet one has to certainly be prepared for what is best for his health in the long term, should it not work out the way he/you want.   Anyway, Keep the Faith and keep us posted on his progress.

This is kind of interesting.  Wittenberg alum Ron Lancaster is a finalist in the Greatest QB/Receiver Connections in Canadian Football League History competition.  The winner is being determined by online voting at the CFL website.

Nice quote, WittFan.  :D

Nice picture, Li'l Giant.  The Young Ones flashback I got looking at that takes me back more years than I care to admit.  :)

Get the DVD set. It's just as funny now as it was then.

Good luck to your son.  Just make sure that's he's patient and doesn't rush his comeback.  Back injuries are no fun, and I can tell you from personal experience that they can recur without warning.

Heck, they never even give you any warning the first time.  I hurt mine initially, a long time ago, playing ping pong, of all things.  I used to enjoy playing far back from the table, making lunging, reaching saves to return the other guy's slams.  Never hurt me a bit.  Then one day, between points, I was simply reaching down to pick up the ball, and suddenly I was in excruciating pain.  No fun at all.

I'm sure he's getting good professional assistance, but taking care of it is really pretty simple but important.  Once he's pain free, strengthening the abs and stretching the hamstrings are key.  Every day and especially before any activity.  Again, best of luck to him to have a full recovery and soon.

Was anyone at Wooster's Black & Gold scrimmage yesterday? I'm curious how many players are already injured through one week of camp.

Apone

Interested as well to hear feedback from the Black & Gold.

wally_wabash

This year's Black & Gold game was actually a reenactment of the Battle of Stirling from Braveheart.  We can only hope that there were enough survivors for Wooster to field a team this season...

Could we give Wabash their own site?    ;D ;D ;D ;D

It would be nice if there were enough non-Wabash conversation to keep a board going. :)

BLACK + GOLD SCRIMMAGE:  There were about 10 players not participating.  The scrimmage did not last as long as those in the recent past.  There were a few ice packs handed out during the scrimmage, but nothing that appeared to be too serious.  The players seemed to be motivated and energized.

ski, could you provide any other details on the scrimmage?  In private if you wish, but myself, like other wooster alums, are intrigued by this year's team.
