FINAL - Gators did what they should have done.  Nice game.

Tarquinio (AC) had 213 yards rushing in the game

2.7 seconds. An average football player may need more time to score; a great one finds a way. I've seen greatness happen.

Wabash giving up 400 + yards a game.....

I know there are some injuries, but this is so Un-Wabash like...

I'm glad Millikin didn't think to pass in the first half.

The only answer for why we rushed the ball so little, might be that our O-line was getting beat.....Millikin's D-line was huge.  Anyone that was at the game that can shed some light on this?

For 40 minutes we got the team we thought we were going to have this year.  For the last 20 minutes, we got the team that showed up last week.  I'm not sure Wabash stopped Millikin as much as Millikin just ran out of time.

The D played well for 40 minutes, then gave up 270 yards on MU's last four drives.  Wabash's offense is sick, but the LGs won't win the NCAC if they can't find a way to stop anybody in the fourth quarter.

Not sure why we didn't run more....not that anything was wrong with the pass.  It might have been that CC decided to throw until Millikin could stop it, which they couldn't.  And it's not like the run was very effective for Wabash today.

Not totally sure what to take away from this one just yet.  It was great for most of the game, and then it all went wrong.  I'm happy for the win, but I'm not really comfortable about this game.

By the way, Pynenberg had 20 tackles.  He was everywhere and any rant on how porous the Wabash defense has been this year should probably exclude him.  He's playing outstanding football.

Wally,

Still getting scoop from the game but I believe Huff checked out A LOT because of Millikin going with man coverage - can't really blame him though going 22 of 36 for 386 and 4 TDs (0 INTs).  I wasn't able to attend but heard Russell was finally able to turn the "burners" on.  Walker & Russell with well over 100 yard each.

I thought Bash had them put away when it was 31-9 in the 2nd half.  I still think this was a big step forward for this team - especially rebounding after last week's tough loss.  It sounds like these were the 2 most disturbing plays:

- blocked punt for a Millikin TD (anyone remember the last blocked punt for Wabash?)
- Millikin's conversion on 4th & 19 in the 4th...how gross is that?

Nice to see Sobecki (Freshman RB) getting his first touches as a Little Giant.  Scotty - he is coming on... ;)

How gross was ND today in South Bend???  Wow.

16-

Wabash was running away with the game.  MU couldn't stop the passing game at all.  As soon as Bash got away from the screens and started throwing vertical passes the Wabash O was in control (which consequently set up a sweet screen for Billy on a TD later in the game).

One more play that you can mark down as being a little weird was the screen play Wallick scored on in the 3rd.  He got near the Bash sideline, looked like he went out and everybody pretty much stopped playing.  No whistles, he cut back across the field and ran into the end zone.  That was the play that started our defensive implosion...not sure how much that one play had to do with it, but that's where it started.

I agree it's a step forward, but if we don't figure out how to play D in the fourth quarter, we won't win this conference.  Somebody will get us.  Improvement is improvement, I guess.  The D has three weeks to get a lot better before we head off to Witt.  I think the O can carry us until then, but on the road at Witt will be tough if we're not playing any defense.  Finchy is a bit more creative with his offense than Millikin was today.

Today's NCAC results:

Wabash 38, Millikin 31
Bethany 34, OWU 28
Earlham 32, Anderson 24
Allegheny 52, Hiram 7
CWRU 43, Kenyon 13

This has been an ugly, ugly year for the NCAC in non-conference play.

Millikin is a good club with some secondary issues - a team like Wabash is going to hurt them. But while Adi was all over the field, it seemed like if he didn't make the tackle no one else would and that's not a good sign.

The running game was nowhere. Millkin's run defense was strong and they swarmed to the holes.

Here's an interesting factoid - the three players who completed passes today for Wabash also had a pass reception.
