With so much chatter going on in here you'd think there wasn't a huge rivalry game about to happen let alone a huge game that will impact the conference championship.  Please...not everybody at once.

So until you all want to talk about Witt/Woo, I'm going to bore you with Wabash/Earlham talk and toss in some "fun" facts about the thriving metropolis of Richmond, Indiana.

It's Huff vs. Rummell II this Saturday at scenic M.O. Ross Field.  Huff won round 1 of this epic matchup 46-0 in the 2004 matchup.  Huff went 12-18-1 for 162 and two touchdowns (one to Mike Russell which I believe was his first TD in a Wabash uniform).  Rummell was 24-39-1, 236 yards, and zero touchdowns.  Rummell was sacked six times in that game and if memory serves didn't finish the contest.  I'm guessing that both quarterbacks will be throwing it more this time around...it should be a good show put on by two very good quarterbacks.  Something even the great Weeb Ewbank, a Richmond native, could enjoy.   ;D

Let's not forget about Tom Raper RVs if we're going to talk about Richmond attractions.  ;)

The updated NCAA National stats rankings are up and Huff, Walker, Adi and the Wabash Offense are all near the top.  Other NCAC players are ranked in the top 10/25 in specific categories.

Check it out.

How lucky are those playing in the Woo/Witt game this weekend.  Those guys have got to be bitting at the bit for Saturday!!  Unfortunately, I am far enough removed that I can't talk any smack  :-\

What I do know though is that Drush will have pancakes, servin em up hot 'n fresh for the witties.  Heck, he just might give a few double stackers out!!

I also know that Mizak and Watson will be runnin wild in the back field, gettin at the QB.  Oh, and don't forget Dre giving Murry a good talkin to after he plants him for a loss!!

Let's go Scots...Sh!t on W!tt  (there, I said it.  I didn't want to, but I felt it had to be said)

DarkSide, you can never be too far removed to talk smack for a rivalry game...it may be a more sophisticated form of smack as you age (though not always), but you can always talk it.  That is part of what being a college football fan is all about.

Isn't it "just a short drive to Richmond" from anywhere.......

I suppose it makes sense that Earlham has the worst visitors' locker rooms in the conference.

kcreds/The Bishop...anybody going to the Kenyon game?

I will chime in on the Woo-Witt rivalry.

Obviously, this is a big game for the Scots.  I personally think the winner of this one will be in the drivers seat for the conference championship.  The Scots have started strong and with Sheppard(sp?) now back that makes there running game even more potent. Yes Witt was blown out by Cap but they played Dayton tough and rebounded last week with a victory.  I throw the Cap game out.  I have heard they are that good and could seriously challenge Mount this year.  Mount and Cap and the two best teams in the country at this point I believe.

My former teammates have got the defense playing stout this year and I think that is what has to carry them through the season along with their running game and o-line up front.

In this game I like the Scots because of there defense, home field, and senior QB Schaffer leading the way.  Let's hope the D can rattle the freshman QB and control the clock with the ground game.

Go Scots!!

The_Bishop

Won't be at the Kenyon game but will be attending Witt/OWU on October 21st, which will hopefully have significant meaning for both teams at that point in the season.

I was very impressed with comments made to the press by Coach Creighton and Dustin Huff following the Bash/OWU game.  It's clear to me that Wabash is a program built on class from top to bottom, and the NCAC got a clear upgrade when it joined however many years ago.

Iam planning on being in Delaware on Saturday...this will be my second look at the Bishops...T Bishop: Of course the LG's have class - Coach "C" is a LORD!!!! GO BISHOPS

Should be a great Witt / Woo game.  Witt wins and all is forgiven and they are back.  Lose and ... not sure how you explain the fall.  Lots of pressure on Murray and Witt D.

Woo needs to show Schaffer is money.  Plus ... Murray will be a handfull.  Woo wins and a lot of internal Mo goes with it.  Lose and Mister Mo leaves for C'ville as far as Woo is concerned.

The Rummell and Huff show should be fun to watch.  Look for 'Bash D to steadily improve and cause Rummell some concern.  Still, he will get his.  Wabash O is the genuine article ... with the run becoming a weapon of choice as well.  As for Huff and the receivers ... it is Katie bar the door and send the fat singing lady in.  If the weather cooperates a great areal show.

Predict:  'Bash by a lot  ... basketball score
Woo in a squeaker ... based upon senior QB and a semblence of a running game.

Lancer98,

We are in the 2nd week of conference play and the winner of Woo/Witt is in the drivers seat?  As Lee Corso would say, "not so fast my friend."  Bash will be a handful and keep in mind that they have Gheny and Wooster at Hollett Little Giant Stadium.  The Witt game in Springfield will be tough.  Right now the Bash D is suspect, but by week 5+ should be much improved.  Neither one of those 3 offenses are lighting it up right now in Gheny, Witt, and Woo - which causes me to like the matchups.  The Bash offense is very much loaded and explosive.  I like our chances and how the conference schedule shapes up for the Little Giants.

Has the Woo rushing game been that impressive to this point?  You imply that it has.  The verdict is still out on Sheppard too - is he versatile, can he rise to the occasion in big games, etc.  On the other hand, I'd be incredibly concerned about slowing Murray.  He's proven he can take over a game.  I like Witt in this game by a couple of TDs.  If Witt jumps out, I don't think Woo can play from behind.  I could be wrong.  It should be a great game.

Kcreds,
How is Jr. doing as of late?

Holding up on the sidelines and getting an academic perspective on the game?
Any thought given to taking a medical redshirt and getting a 5th fall of football in?

Best of luck.
