Incomplete again.  4th and 20 with 10 secs left.

Throws deep . . . INCOMPLETE!!!

Witt wins a thriller 24-21!

Murray does it again - 2 rushing TDs, over 100 yeards on the ground, and a receiving TD.

Another classic game between these two.

Wabco -- Nice acknowledgement on the air.

WAF78

Way to go Little Giants...Wabash 48...Earlham 15. Great job defense in containing the Earlham O.

Li'l Giant

Way to go LGs. Great job containing Rummell. If this is the defense that shows up the rest of the season I'll have a much happier cardiologist.

Good win for the Tigers today.  Big conference road victory.  Good to see.  Lets hope this gives them confidence for the rest of the season.

Sounds like a great game today at Woo.  Unfortunetly for me we lose a heartbreaker.  Hard fought for both teams.  Now I have to hold on hope the Bash can beat Witt and Woo wins out.  The Witt--Bash game will be interesting.

Woo fought hard in the second half but Murray looked to be too much for them.

Solid game from the LGs.  I was very surprised at the game plan...Wabash has a running game!  Who knew?  Kimp looked very good.  I'm expecting/hoping to see him get more touches as we move forward.

Wabash D harassed Rummell all day.  He had no time and really only had much success once he stopped trying to throw his way out of trouble and started running a little bit.  By then the game was well in hand.

By the way, M.O. Ross Field is an abomination.  While trying to find the high ground so that I could actually see what the heck was going on on the field, I found three new species of weeds and may have contracted malaria.  They've got to do something about that place.  Our institutions are better than that.

Is the horse pasture still viewable from the field at Earlham?  Heard they took it out.  Mmm! Mmm! Horseflies.

There is no doubt about OWU, they are definitely not a contender. They lost some heartbreakers this year but don't start and compare them to Allegheny last year. Allegheny lost games by playing tough defense and staying in games. OWU is losing by putting up big numbers, only to let the defense squander them. I know they have some very good athletes on D but for some reason the job is not getting done. It will be interesting to see how much character they have and how the season will play out.

Wouldnt be too disheartened by the loss to Kenyon Kcreds.  Theyre not Earlham or Denison.  Not Oberlin from a few years ago.  The Kenyon Coach really pulled some reactionary tactics a few weeks ago by not coddling his studs and putting them in their place.  Criticized for it after a loss, looking like a solid coaching move at the moment.

Expecting Kenyon is trying to reach the summit with that giant ball of yarn and the adminstration will tow the line for the coach if not the program.  Sounds like a guy that knows how to build character, and thats education at any cost.

All this Earlham smack Ive been talking better not turn this season into the the third of a rotating buffet of Upsets.  OWU two years ago, Allegheny this year.  If anything at least I was talking those programs up whent hey hit the gong.

Up next, the QUAKE.

Ken Smith

Couple of thoughts on this week.

1.  Wabash is gettin there.  I know it was just Earlham, but a nice thing developed today...  Confidence.

2.  Woo / Witt as advertised.  Woo seemed to be a different team most of the second half.  Nice win for Witt, they showed they are contenders.

3.  OWU..... uuuughhhhhh  They are not only losing on the spread in games against teams they should beat, they are loosing the game to them.

4.  Oberlin - Ok....your not good.  Hiram nice effort.

5.  Gators.... What happened in the 2nd half?

6.  If Franklin keeps winning, does that help our chances in BCS points?  ;D

Oh...and one more thing.  Nice job today Chad Finley (40 yrd avg.)

A good win for the Witt, bad loss for the Woo.

In my opinion, this game was Woos to lose.  Roughing the kicker on a missed fg gives the tiggers a new life and touchdown.  The very next series Woo throws a horrible INT.  Woo fumbles on their second to last drive (might as well be the last drive) with 6 min left. Witt the produces a march down the field that eats up 5 min of clock for a score.

By my calculations, thats 21 points that should never have happened for witt.  Great job on the Witt side to capitalize on Woo's mistakes.

Some interesting stats:
First Downs:  Witt-16, Woo-15
Total Yards:   Witt-266, Woo-277

Things look pretty even up to this point...

Turnovers:     Witt-0,   Woo-2
TOP:               Witt-35:08  Woo- 24:52

woo was good at moving the ball through the air, but did not chew up the clock like Witt did with its rushing attack.

Oh yeah, Witt didn't have a first down the entire second half until their final drive to win!!!

Gameover, time to move on.  There were some good things in this game that Woo can build on, now they need to finish strong and win out.
