Well, if you would rather have Kenyon in the playoffs than Witt, then its pretty obvious that you do not want the NCAC to make a decent showing on the national stage.

I already know how bad Witt can lose to Capital.  I wouldn't mind seeing Kenyon get a shot.

Congrats to Witt.   Witt vs Wabash sounds like an intense match-up.  It's one D3 game I'd love to watch.

I'd actually be interested to see if Witt could do better against Capital in a second game.  We would find out if Witt just doesn't start well, or if they have a mental block with Capital, or if Capital is just THAT good.

One of the strangest results from yesterday's NCAC action was what Oberlin did to Earlham.  Strange.

I really thought Earlham was gonna be the "Best of the rest" this year.  It looks like that honor will go to Kenyon again this year.

Kenyon will have to beat Oberlin to earn that honor.

I do think that there could be a question of if the NCAC champ will even host a first round game, but we shall see.

So will Oberlin @ Kenyon or Gheny @ Witt be the game of the week in the NCAC on November 4?

Witt has an outside shot of hosting a first round game if they get that far.  Other than that, forget it.  2-loss teams don't get to host in the first round barring some sort of clerical error.

As far as Witt being lucky... sometimes it's just better to be lucky than good. If you can be both... look out cause you're gonna be hard to beat.

Saturday's game was not one to really get a guage on how good either Witt or Wabash really are because the game was way too sloppy on both sides. Honestly, neither one of them looked like a championship team that game. That being said, it was exciting to watch even if it wasn't great football.

Witt's D is gonna have to stop giving up big plays on 3rd and long and the QB is gonna have to be smarter with the ball if they expect to go to the playoffs and compete. I'm looking forward to the Gheny game and hope to see some improvement.

3)  I have a really good digital tape of the game that includes Witt's radio broadcast.  I'm making a DVD of it tonight.  I'm not sure logistically how to do it, but if we can figure it out I'm willing to share with those folks who are looking for a copy.

I'd be interested if you can distribute it somehow.

Just to show my appreciation for all you do Pat, I'll burn a copy and mail it to you at my expense.  Just PM me and let me know where you want it sent.

For the rest of you who have PMed me, I'm sure we can work something out but I'm kind of in a bind.  Since I am Junior varsity, I can't PM you back. :(  Perhaps one of the site admins can grant me some kind of PM waiver?

And to clarify for those of you who asked, the DVD runs about 2 hous and 15 minutes and contains video of the entire game.  It has a single audio track, which is the Wittenberg radio broadcast.  It doesn't have a "field-level" audio track, so you can't use the tape to prove or disprove any inadvertent phantom whistles.  Nor will you be able to hear hordes of sadistic Tiger fans cheering injuries and verbally abusing little old ladies in Wabash sweatshirts.  For that you will have to use your imagination (which seems to be second nature to some of you). :)

Wally, you didn't mention you got verbally abused.  ;D

edit:
I've tried emailing you but the email keeps coming back undeliverable. Will you try sending me an email at the address in my profile? Thanks.

IMHO, sometimes when two good teams play it gets sloppy. I still believe Wabash and Witt are two very good teams. My prediction is still the same, Witt will win the conference because they beat Wabash. It obviously is possible that another team can do it but traditionally with how the season is turning out, Witt will win. As far as the playoffs go, Witt will give the NCAC the best representation. Some of you didn't want a token player of the week and I don't want a token rep in the playoffs. ONU beat Mount Union last year but who won in the end? I give credit to Witt for playing Capital and Dayton. I believe it will make them stronger and better prepared for the NCAC and even the playoffs. No I'm not a Witt rearend kisser, nor am I a Wabash rearend kisser, I just call it as I see it.

I was on the record stating Coach H will have OWU prepared no matter the record and they proved me right. Denison is having a bad year too but they were at home and OWU lost to some very bad teams already this year. OWU should finish with 2 wins but still very disappointing.

I was at the game saturday and was entertained completely.  I'll leave it at that.  I'm not one to speculate on Phantom Whistlestm, but I was very confused at that point as was everyone else in attendance and listening around the world.

As far as the representation in the playoffs, if there is a tie at the top there is a "Big Ten" rule.  The team that has gone the longest without a playoff birth gets the automatic qualifier.  It would be a shame if a team like Kenyon tied for the league championship and got the AQ, as they don't play the entire schedule.  Not playing the Tigers, Little Giants, and Gators makes it a lot easier to win the league championship.  Playing in Springfield, Crawfordsville, and Meadville is tough, and one would have to believe the Lords would lose all those games.

That being said, Wittenberg is notorious for huge let downs after big wins.  Let's hope that doesn't happen this week!

GO TIGERS!

I must agree.  I have a problem with a team getting the AQ when they don't play the top teams of the conference.  I want the best representative to get the AQ.  Sorry Kenyon, until you play Witt and Bash any type of Championship is hollow.  As always.
