Not to deny it is a great school. You can get an excellent education there in many things from history to political science to economics to even the sciences now (recently).

Correct me, but where in there do I say that

Life skills.... career skills... that is just semantics. I'll play that game if you want.

Regardless, I consider myself a pretty loyal and diehard supporter of Kenyon College and of the football program (yes program, not team).

Now back to your regularly scheduled football discussions:

'Bash > Oberlin
Woo > Gheny
Kenyon > Earlham        Another Hiram-esque performance for the Lords. Put up 50+
Denison > Hiram

I wouldn't quibble if you want to argue that career is the single most important thing in life (though I place my wife and kids way out in front), but to suggest that life = career (which is the clear implication of saying 'life skills....career skills... that is just semantics')?  I feel very sorry for you.

Or perhaps I have misunderstood (or you phrased it differently than you meant)?

You can do ANYTHING with a liberal arts education, our graduates prove that.

Most of the time the posts here are relatively boring, but the last couple of days have been so entertaining!!!! You guys are so funny!

I wanted to try to show you guys The Head, which was our "mascot" before Wally Wabash, but I can't find the photo I thought I had. I tried a screen grab but it's not working.

Sorry.

Lil' Giant,

Are there any pics online?  Anywhere?

Barbee,

I plan to attend tomorrow if I can make it.  Tressel, Jack Park and the gang from OSU will be there.  I will be wearing Woo colors no doubt....even though I am a Buckeye fan.

This isn't the nasty, ugly, scare-the bejesus-out-of-the-kids papier mache head that has been discussed earlier, but I did find this link to an even earlier Wally Wabash:

First time I've ever seen that one.

'Bash CPA,

Found a pic of "the Head" in THE BATTLE FOR THE BELL (Robinson, New, and Haugh) on page 60.  Be glad to scan and send...Email me, and I'll upload it.

There hasn't been much discussion about the Scots and the Gators.  Are there any thoughts on this game?  It has some implications in the championship race.

It's essentially an elimination game.  The loser has no chance, the winner still has a shot.  It's going to be a huge game for sure and I'm expecting a good game here.

The Twilight Zone game of the week:  Wabash @ Oberlin....Wabash playing spoiler for the Yeomen?!?!  Is that really happening?

Who's your Draddy?  Could be somebody from the NCAC.  The Draddy Trophy is an all divisions award with criteria similar to the Gagliardi (you can read more about it in ATN this week).  We've got a few semifinalists from the NCAC who were named this week:

Jimmy Savage, Allegheny
Ryan Lacy, Kenyon
Tristan Murray, Witt
Rick Drushal, Wooster

Congrats...and hopefully we'll see one or so of these names on the list of finalists later this year.

After perusing the infringement warnings, the offer is retracted with sincere regrets ;)
The "Wally Dad" link was an excellent flashback - that image decorated most of the spiral notebooks offered at the Book Store back in the "dark ages of the late 1960s-early 1970s"
