There hasn't been much discussion about the Scots and the Gators.  Are there any thoughts on this game?  It has some implications in the championship race.

The Twilight Zone game of the week:  Wabash @ Oberlin....Wabash playing spoiler for the Yeomen?!?!  Is that really happening?

I can't believe you are even saying that.

This isn't the nasty, ugly, scare-the bejesus-out-of-the-kids papier mache head that has been discussed earlier, but I did find this link to an even earlier Wally Wabash:

First time I've ever seen that one.

I've seen this before. There were old "Big Cookie" bumper stickers in the Scarlet Inn that had this fella on them. Wow.

I didn't even think to look in the Battle for the Bell book that's on my damn coffee table. Duh.

I hope someone from D-III wins the Draddy but every year except one it has gone to a I-A player.

Good luck to everybody this weekend.

GO BISHOPS!!!!!

ScotLass

Uhhhhhh......GO BISHOPS????? According to previous posts, Kenyon is the only place with anyone who can demonstrate academic prowess...everyone else has a pulse....and I presume is still breathing.....AND no one in the NCAC can really play.

Soooo.....

Positives for the Bishops:
A. They beat Denison
B. The players have a pulse
C. Nobody else can play worth a darn anyway

Negatives for the Bishops:
A. They've lost to everybody but Denison
B. They aren't very smart....they don't go to Kenyon
C. Those silly, no good, academically challenged players at Witt have managed to somehow get themselves in a position to win the NCAC

So, here's to all the players in the NCAC this weekend, who devote countless hours to practices and drills, training and film review....all the while knowing they will never be paid to play on Sunday like some of the characters that do. Instead, these guys do all the above simply for the love of the game. What a novel idea!

Best of luck and hats off to everyone!

OWU's fan base grew by roughly the amount of Wabash, Kenyon, Oberlin, Allegheny, and Wooster fans worldwide this week.  You've never had more support, Bishops.  Play the game we know you can play on Saturday.

Like the Big Ten/ACC Challenge...why not a NCAC/OAC AllStar game before/after the D3 Championship.

And the winner was: Brandon Roberts-WUStL (2002)!

I am so frustrated...I am not able to get the broadcast again.....

If someone could be so kind to give a regular update this is my only way to find out what is happening in the game....and any mention about Andrew Rode I would like to know.....

Thanks so much....

Wabash marches down the field...and is intercepted at the goalline.

Wabash forces a punt out of the end zone.  LGs will set up inside the Oberlin 40.

This was quick.  First play after the punt...play action left Russell wide open down the field for a touchdown pass.  PAT is good.  7-0 Wabash.

The shootout is on.  Oberlin marches down using a couple of big pass plays and scores on a Mangan TD pass.  PAT doinks off the upright.  7-6 Little Giants lead.  And I missed how much time is left...that's just sloppy reporting on my part.

Russell is already wearing Oberlin out.  A couple of nice catches by Mike on this drive.  Wabash catches Oberlin with a draw play to Billy King for a 19 yard TD run.  PAT is true.  14-6 Wabash and I missed the time again.   >:(

Brent bails me out.  12:50 left in the half.

Obies go 3 and out and will punt out of their end zone again.  Rode blocks it!!!!! Wabash will set up right on the goal line here.

DJB pounds it into the end zone for Wabash.  Wabash will also get a free 15 yards on the kickoff courtesy of a personal foul penalty....Brent takes a break to help the home guy score the blocked punt.  Now we're ready for the PAT.  Good.  21-6 Wabash.  Brent didn't give me the time before this break so it's not on me this time.   :)

Ha!  BB16 gets the shout out from Harris.  Adi's coming for you bro!  In the meantime, Oberlin goes three and out (again).  Wabash gets good field position after the punt.  We've got about 7 minutes left in the half.

DJB is possessed.  He just ran through a bunch of guys to get into the end zone for the second time tonight.  PAT is good.  28-6 Wabash.  I'm guessing that we've got somewhere around 2 minutes to go in the half.

Adi just made his third sack of the game.  He's tied for 5th now on the career tackles list at Wabash...he's still got another year.  Scary.  Wabash calls a timeout with 49 seconds left.  Oberlin faces 3rd and 10.

Wabash gets the ball back with 35 seconds left.  Wabash picks up a first down and resets.  22 seconds left.  Pass complete to Russell to the 20 yard line.  14 seconds left.  I think Russell just went over 100 yards for the day.  Next play, Huff to Russell for a 21 yard TD.  When it's on, it's scary.  PAT is good.  35-6 Wabash.  Great half for the LGs.

I'll put second half updates in a new post.
