Is the Griz the new power in Indiana football? Franklin has the regions #6 spot.

Nope.  One good year doesn't make one the new power.  Next year's Franklin/Wabash game in C'ville ought to be one of the more anticipated non-con matchups in the North Region.  This year people got caught off guard by Franklin.  Next September, everybody will know both teams can bring it.  It's going to be a fun, fun game.

Quote from: desertraider on November 04, 2006, 04:13:56 PMIn my four years at Hiram I think they won 7 games.

Yeeouch.
Different level alltogether but I think my high school has won a total of 3 games in seven years!

I have not checked the board in a few days so this may have already been addressed - however in the last 5 years my proud Hiram Terriers have recorded 3 wins and 47 defeats. The wins were against Kenyon (1 before joining the NCAC, 1 since joining the NCAC) and 1 against Earlham last year. That info was pulled from a post on the OAC page made by Reality_Check.

Wabash is up to 574 wins.  :)

You can find all time w-l records for all DIII teams in the records book on this page:

The team win-loss records start on page 87 or so.

Another post from the OAC has a link from Trinity (TX) SID on DIII records since 1994.

Congrats to Witt! Are you Witt fans now enjoying the warm fuzzies instead of the knives that were thrown at you last week?  ;D Another reason why the NCAC fans are great, even though some dislike Witt, they now will root for them through the playoffs, I say that is class.

I just read the posts from the last few days. I knew it would be more interesting on here when women started posting, nothing personal Scottlass.

WILLIAMSTOWN HIGH SCHOOL, 56 REGULAR SEASON GAMES WON IN A ROW. I couldn't find the national record. Do any of you great football fans know?

In case it was not answered:
"De La Salle High of Concord, Calif., had its 151-game winning streak stopped when it lost to Bellevue High in Washington, 39-20. The game was played before 24,000 fans at Qwest Field in Seattle."

Hmm. If you include the Wabash 2005 win total for that period it comes out to 88 by my count. If not, then it's 77. Not too shabby.

Today's Richmond Palladium-Item story about Justin Rummell, his decision to come to Earlham and his thoughts heading into EC's final game against Allegheny.

Is that Billy_Pilgrim I see making....a football post? On a football board?

Wait a minute....I hear hooves......

Oh, it's the coffee maker, never mind.

:D

By the way, nice article. Rummell seems like a good guy and I wish him good luck playing football after college.

Yes, yes, I will slide over here every once in a while just to see what's happening with conference friends and foes on the gridiron. My fall Saturdays (along with a lot of money in gas and tickets) are devoted to following Penn State (which is quite a hike from Indy). So, I haven't followed the Quakers much since I graduated.

However, I am a huge Manny Myers fan (as a freshman he was a reserve running back on a 1-9 varsity team that was led in receiving by none other than Billy_Pilgrim. Manny, and a few of his freshmen teammates, used to call me Keyshawn....undoubtedly in reference to a sideline tantrum where I repeatedly used Keyshawn's catch phrase during a frustrating loss.

So it goes.

That's pretty cool. I like it. Like GoBash and Wally I've wanted to see that ever since I've heard about it.

Holy crap!!! I am scanning the channels for football and I find the DePauw vs Wabash game in high definition.  That has to be the worst looking field I have seen.
