And that means what? Either reach down, grab your sack and say something definitive putting your reputation on the line or be quiet. It's not rocket science.

That's fine...I was (or have been) impressed by Coach C...and what i have heard of him...but don't want to embarrass myself by touting him...over and over again..when maybe he is not the guy I thought he was...does he have to stretch a bit to get kids to consider Wabash??? Just wondering...

What's a stretch?

Because he can.  It's a shame we couldn't score one more time and make the score somewhat embarassing.

That's pretty gay.  Why run up the score when its unecessary?  I thought this was a class rivarly.   Then again maybe not?  That comment is pretty patheic......

You undersestimate how much how much we/I can't stand Depauw.  They deserve to be put in their place.  I wouldn't ever advocate such a thing against anybody else...just Depauw.  They get "special" treatment.

But homophobia, that's totally cool.

A TD at that point would have made it a 16 point game. That's hardly running up the score. It would have put the game of reach. We almost needed that extra TD.

Regarding comments against Coach Creighton, I must say I personally have no problem with the guy.  I have only spoke with him once following the 2004 game in Crawfordsville.  I congratulated him for a hard fought game, and his comments in return, I thought, were very classy.  I think he is a true class act, and represents the NCAC well.

As far as running up the score, lancer, need I remind you of the great Woody Hayes qoute when accused of running the score up on Michigan by going for two.."I only went for two because they wouldn't let me go for three!"  Now I am a Buckeyes fan, and I think the Michigan-Ohio State is the best in the nation.  But was that classy??  The fact of the matter is rivalries aren't always classy.  Sometimes they are down right nasty.  If I could, I would beat Witt by 100 points and not think twice about it.

By the way, Way to go Scots!!  I believe I made a comment last year following the Kenyon game that the score this year would be similar to what it was...a blow out!

Mr. Ypsi

Don't forget the long-term consequence of that 2-point conversion in the 1968 game.  In 1969, rookie coach Bo Schembechler led UM to a win over what was widely considered the greatest college football team ever - and MANY players (and Bo himself) acknowledged that Woody's 'rubbing it in' was a HUGE motivator.

Some thoughts on the Woo/Kenyon game:

Since they have deservedly received some flak this year, the officials did a good job yesterday.....they allowed the players and coaches to determine the outcome of the game.

I didn't see the game last year, but noted yesterday that part of rising up as a winner is determined by how you handle defeat. If the display by Kenyon yesterday is a measure, I would NEVER want to see them represent the NCAC in post season play.

I was unable to see the game.  Please elaborate.

Congrats to to the Scots for a nice revenge win in rainy cold Gambier to round up the season. It was nice to see the seniors go out with a victory in their last game. I hope the Scots and can build on the momentum for next season..
For those interested in a Big Ben pancake alert, Big Ben in his limited and I do mean limited playing time on Sat had a season low ZERO pancakes, Judging by the shape of Kenyons O and D lines  it appears that Big Ben has taken up cooking pancakes instead of producing them on the field..
And just when I thought the rest-rooms at John P. Papp stadium were the worst, Kenyon spends  tens of millions on the new swimming, gym complex, installs a new track, new field turf and a new press box, but instead of bathrooms at the stadium they have 2 filthy sewage overflowing port-a-lets???? BRILLIANT

Props to Wittenberg on getting in. If their offense plays like it did in the second half of the Alma game, the Tigers could really do some damage. :) ;) :D

Elaboration:

Coaches yelling at players from yards away where everyone on the sidelines and in the stands could hear the hostile criticism.

Leads to players following the example......quarterback screaming at his receivers, yelling at the kickoff return team for not getting him good field position, slamming down the ball and stomping off the field to sit alone on a bench, linemen yelling at others and pointing fingers....and on and on.

Too much "it's all about me" behavior and no team cohesiveness under pressure.

I expected to see better.

Good Luck to Witt......should have their hands full again at Cap
