Witt got a tough draw in the first round.

Lets hope they can get more done against Capital this time.

Yeah. Good luck to Witt against Cap.

And too bad about Franklin. I was hoping both our losses would be against playoff teams but it didn't work out.

Good luck to Witt next week at Capital.  I guess we'll see if the Tigers just played bad in the beginning of the year or if they truly have a mental block against them.  Should be interesting...

Go Tigers!!!!

In taking a quick look to next season....if things remain as they should, Wabash will return:

9 of 11 on a Defense that got pretty good by the end of the year.  Knez and Schafer will be missed.

Bubba Lange should return to bolster the Little Giant D line next year.

5 of 11 on Offense will return, including Huff and his receiving corps (scary).  We will need to replace 3 offensive lineman, the TE position and develop Kimp and Sobecki in the backfield.  Geoff Walker will be missed.  How great was seeing him in on the last play yesterday (Nice moment for a great Little Giant)

Special props go out to Billy King.  He switched from Defense to Offense and made an impact for the team this year.  Nice Little Giant career.

I was going to ask about that. I thought I saw #1 out there.

Not too soon to start thinking about next year:
1:  Woo ... lots of bodies graduate ... hard to replace
2:  Witt ... unless they can find another Juco or Brown transfer ...
3:  Gheny ... will imporve but not quite there yet
4: OWU ... darned if I can figure out what and when they will be ... but not at the top next year
5: rest (except 'Bash) ... will remain the rest ... unless of course depending on whether the Ben Meister can finaly figure out a way to fulfill his self congratulatory pancake prophesy and have it become a virus at Kenyon
6:  'Bash ... Huff returns, Hard Hat D returns, receiving corps returns, RB position WILL BE FILLED, O line departures will be missed but taken care of .... WABASH RUNS THE TABLE

Oh, and DePauw will again adequately manage themselves and get their but kicked by 'Bash ... the only unknown being whether the Spudster will have an encore to his opening act of funble, interception and safety.

Scotlass,

Just curious what it is you speak of.

I elaborated on the previous page......and hey, congrats on the Bell game :)

Derp! I missed it. Now I know. Interesting observations. I wonder what that is all about.

Thanks. Having the Bell the rest of the year makes the pounding Wabash will take in hoops and baseball easier to take.  ;)

Congrats to all you Wabash posters on the Bell game win.  Sounds like it was a fantastic game to watch (let alone play in) and the almost 12.000 spectators, wow, that is awesome.  Too bad the Witt game cost you the AQ, but...you already knew that going into the Bell game.  Anyway, an 8-2 season is nothing to scoff at, rather a very fine season, even though I know you would have preferred a playoff spot.

I saw three teams with three losses in the playoffs. Do other NCAC teams even get considered?
Good luck Witt.  And that truly comes from the bottom of my heart. But you got a tough road to hoe!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Ate at the Shack last week(Wooster people know where I mean) and walked over to Papp. This year went fast.  Way too fast.  Wooster may lose quite a few but they have a fairly experienced qb coming back and several very good skill people. In addition, the best player in the league this year (Drushal) returns for his final go round. I would put Woo up there as an early favorite to take it all. I can hardly wait.

Those three loss teams got in because they were conference champs.  There were one-loss teams who didn't get at large bids.  A one-loss NCAC team might get a Pool C bid.

Thanks formerd3db, and good luck to Hope against Mount Union.

All three of those 3 loss teams had their conference AQ. There are 9-1 teams sitting this playoff out (Franklin and Cortland St.) An 8-2 NCAC team (Wabash or Wooster) would certainly not be considered, especially when one of those teams had lost to Franklin.

Ha! I'm usually not on the receiving end of a "great minds" comment. But then again, I didn't go to Kenyon. Or CWRU.  ;)
