help me out here wittfan, more wins than who?

Normally my modesty would prevent me from drawing attention to this.  But since you asked, I believe the answer would be more wins than anybody.

What I find most amazing about the 2006 Tigers is that they made the playoffs behind a true freshman quarterback.  Maybe it happens more than I think, but I can't think of many (any?) playoff teams led by freshman quarterbacks.  Even the greatest quarterback in the history of college football (at least according to the majority of this board), Jake Knott, didn't lead his team to the playoffs his freshman year.:o  Hopefully this bodes well for the future.

Anyway, I tip my hat to the 2006 Tigers.  What a remarkable season.  They will be remembered as the team that, in spite of having the hardest road to the playoffs of any Tiger team in recent memory, reached down deep and found a way to get it done.  IMHO, they have earned their place alongside the great Tiger teams of the past.

7-4 is a remarkable season in Springfield....wow, how the mighty have fallen.

Grantland Rice Baybee!  I'll take it any day of the week - apostrophes and all.

Mr. MUC57, I deal with people like you all day. So insecure in your own world, you sarcastically deride Witt's effort against a very worthy opponent.
Just as Cap had all they could handle with Witt, Capitol now faces the Purple Raiders.
I can refer you to several docs in Alliance that treat the issues you have that came out on this posting forum.

Are the NCAC post season awards this week?  Last year they were announced on the 22nd.

My guess:

Coach-of-the-Year = Fincham
O MVP = Murray (I would not be surprised to see Co with Huff - his numbers were outstanding)
D MVP = Pynenberg - probably should have won it last year, he should get it this year
Newcomer = Huffman

D3 posted the playoff records by conference and at least the NCAC is in double digits with 10.  Some of those other conferences are pretty gross - I can't believe the MIAA has 0.

I assume you mean "0" since Albion's 1994 National Championship at the Stagg Bowl.

As already mentioned, it's the playoff records since 1999. As he said, the ones we posted.

Congratulations to Tristan Murray who has been announced as a Gagliardi Trophy finalist.  This marks the third consecutive year that the NCAC has placed a student-athlete in this select group!

Not too shabby for such a bad conference.  ::)

Wooster really dominated the first team selections- some were no brainers, but that many? - not much room for an Allegheny squad that was pretty much neck and neck.  But for the kick specialists Oberlin puts as many on the first team as Gheny.

Actually first team through HM Obi placed quite a few for postseason honors.  Good job Yeomen.

Just so I can vent, would like to know where all the guys from Earlham receivng postseason awards were during the season - sure didnt see it.

Kenyon placed who I expected, just some higher and some lower in my estimations.

Like the guys Witt put on the second team defense.  Thats pretty much the scratch the tigers have coming back on defense next year with the graduation of umpteen safeties.  That D tackle has a motor, just gets a little high with his pads sometimes.  Like how Swanson gets excited when he makes a pick and forgets how to run fluid! - classic

Congratulations Murray on OPOY, Gags nomination and an outstanding career in the red and white.

BTW - congrats to the BASH all conference players, now can we stop with the warm fuzzies.  ;D

Happy Thanksgiving to all you NCACers.

Except the Witt guys. I hope your turkeys are dry.  :D

Oh, that's just a joke. Actually, we wish that someone replaced DePauw's turkeys with Spam...or Treet.
