ScotLass: If maturity were a requirement in order to post here, this board would shut irself down.

Maybe in 2007 posters could work on granting Pat one of his wishes for 2006...

From the Dec 21, 2005 Daily Dose:

"Responsible use of the karma function on the message board. I see someone who has a minus-182 karma who hasn't posted in over two months. Yet someone has apparently been smiting this person basically once a day since. Get a grip, people. Some grudges need to be let go"

At least karma isn't linked to your ability to post....shudder, shudder....
Then we'd be like some very naughty regimes who suppress those who don't think like they do......childish behavior turned dangerous

Come on! Grant Pat a wish.... ;D
ScotLass, thank you for your post! This karma thing is childish and there are some real abusers.

Mount Union's success has helped raise the level of D3 play in the OAC and for other teams they play just like other successful teams before them helped raise Mount's play.  Larry Kehres has been quoted numerous times saying he was inspired by Augustana in the 80's.  Wittenberg, B-W, and Muskingham were at other times dominant Ohio teams that inspired excellence.  I agree that playing good competition can help programs get better.
About two years, the Wooster coach spoke at the HOF luncheon.  He was asked why he didn't schedule Mt for an early season game as they both had openings in their schedules.  He said" why should we play Mt. and get our tails kicked?  He thought that was counter productive.

There should be some early decision/recruiting reports beginning to rise.  Maybe ... an upperclassman who is not coming back.  Does anyone have information? ... or are they all out there waiting for their financial aid packages?

I heard from a friend of a friend, of a friend, of a person I have never met, That Coach Schmitz admitted one night  the reason that they can't put field turf in John P Papp stadium is that Jimmy Hoffa is buried in the scoreboard endzone and that the Aliens from Roswell are buried in the other..... ;D
So if you think about it... We have to kill these animals or else they will die...... Guess that makes us environmentalists

at least Ohio State had the better band last night.   Ohio is really becoming the band state.  ;D

bashbrother,
I gave you +k for the Ohio band compliment.  They're the best and should get the top spot in the final band poll.  ;)

I've always that any message board system that requires you to make a certain number of posts in order to gain the ability to do things is just asking for people to make extra inane posts.

Requiring people to make inane posts in order to be able to grade the quality of posts seems... a bit off.

As I try to only post when I feel I have something meaningful to contribute, my post count is rather low and I don't have the ability to adjust karma.

I could spam different boards with posts to get my post count up and get that function...

But I'm ok with the path that I have chosen.

You could but we've been known to delete those kind of posts.

Which, while not the reason that I won't do that, it IS one of the reasons why these boards do maintain their quality.

And, I do find that kind of information encouraging.

But I will try and turn this back into an on-topic post, which given that it is off-season was a bit of a difficulty... but I think I found something.

Congrats to 73-Ted Londot (Wittenberg) and 68-Rick Drushal (Wooster) for their participation in a 28-7 win over Mexico in the Aztec Bowl this past December! I bet it was an experience of a lifetime!

Here is a link to the Top High School players in each state (class 2007) as listed by Scout.com

Good reading for these slow times.

Man ... what a dead board.

Looks like 'Bash is being broomed in BBall, has a good wrestling season going (yes, wrestling is a sport NCACers), and may just cause some heartburn among the elete swimming NCACers.

Have heard nothing about Little Giant FB recruiting other than the standard "its going well".  My read of Wabash top football challenges for the fall will be Franklin, Witt and DePauw.  First, middle, last.  You can count on CC and everyone else being ready for Franklin this year ... and they play at our house.

Any thoughts out there?

Superfoot Wallace

Witt used to know wrestling.  The OAC surely knows wrestling, but without a doubt the best d3 wrestling occurs in Illinois, Iowa and Wisconsin.

Not buying the stale laundry logic that Franklin won last year because of the having already played a game advantage.  You make your own breaks and luck is a simply an outcome of preparation.  Dont like it then schedule it.  However, as has been debated ad nauseum on The Board before, home field advantage for the LGs beckons.

Think the LGs win this one going away, but Franklin can take some solace in the fact hey have an enhanced shot at winning the HCAC AQ with MSJs beloved defensive coordinator heading for TMC and the return of seemingly all but Sears.

Any truth in the rumor mill about the return of the man the myth the legend in Cville.  Almost willing to bet my Kiski Prep shorts.

Fabulous- Kenyon is looking for a new defensive coordinator. It is about time. Maybe now the defense will even show up to the game on Saturdays... maybe even stop another team? Unlikely, but thank GOD they are at least trying.
Now, if they can get the QB to not emulate Mike Vick they'll be back over .500 on the year. Tough to replace Coombs..... Sanchez will need to get that completion percentage well north of the 50/50 mark for them to have a shot.
A 5-5 year coming up.
