Fabulous- Kenyon is looking for a new defensive coordinator. It is about time. Maybe now the defense will even show up to the game on Saturdays... maybe even stop another team? Unlikely, but thank GOD they are at least trying.
Now, if they can get the QB to not emulate Mike Vick they'll be back over .500 on the year. Tough to replace Coombs..... Sanchez will need to get that completion percentage well north of the 50/50 mark for them to have a shot.
A 5-5 year coming up.

When did Coach Posey (or Kenyon) announce his leaving and where is he going to?  Just curious.  Thanks.

No idea acutally. Not on the website. But, on the D3 posts where it lists coaching searches, Kenyon is looking for a D coordinator.
It's a shame, because he seems like a decent enough fellow... maybe they need to work on recruiting both sides of the ball harder.

Oh. Damn. Wow. I guess we should start the "Cunn-ing-ham" chant....

Actually ... word on the street is that it is not  "the return of the man of myth..." but rather the transfer of the man of pancake.

Word is that Kenyon's own "Pancake" Ben has a year or two left in his playing time (... being from Florida ... where they get to play for 6 to 8 years provided they do not commit too many crimes against humanity ...)  AND he has decided to offer his services to the LGs at both right and left tackle ... ... WHAT A PANCAKE BREAKFAST IT WILL BE !!!

With Marlin Jackson rectifying the Marsha-Vrable connection, new piece of trivia, which former Witt great battled back and forth with Flexy Rexy for a high school quarterbacking spot?

Will point out the answer to this trivia question is a testament to the Springfield coaching prowess as this same quarterback met with the same scenario upon transfer north to the land of Chris Ings high shool stomping grounds.  Marsha had a similar situation in both high school as well as college methinks.

Give the Tigers the backups and theyll lead the nation in efficiency.

Go Colts !!!

Now lets get some discussion going.

I see Wabash O next year as similar to Colts ... you just can't defense the WRs ... PLUS too many receivers when you throw in the RB and tight ends and a QB (Huff) who can deliver it.  Also will have good RB along with good J back.  D line is in tact with "world class" middle LBs. Outside LB have additional year of experience.... if our deep people hold together ... we have a Colts D.

We will run the table in the conference and go at least 3 deep in the playoffs.  Our toughest game will be Franklin.  Reason:  we always start slow on the first game, they are one of the best teams we will play, and they have "penis envy" when playing us .... BUT they come to our House AND this time we have film on them (as opposed to last time when they had film on us but refused to share their film) and a BIG recent memory reason to kick their bottoms.

It's really great to see a guy have a long and distinguished career, be a part of so many high quality teams, get close to the biggest prize so many times and then finally get over the hump.  Congrats to Pete Metzelaars for finally winning the big one!    :)

Spring football is right around the corner....amazing how this has turned into a year round affair.

Are any NCAC teams heading abroad this summer?

NCAC-Fans, Kenyon is looking for a  new D coach, Posey had his problems in Gambier! But having followed the Kenyon Football program since the 70s, I must say that coach Stanley gave all his talent to coach Ferzoco! The biggest problem with the D is attitude, I played on that side of the ball in the 80s at a  D2 school. They don't seem to understand, that  D has to be played with emotion and toughness, to get the job done. Arbolaez has more talent than Coomb's, and has the speed to pop outside. This takes nothing from Alby, he was oldschool in the true sense of the word. If Ted can get some help on D, and a good teacher at cordinator, Kenyon could surprise some  conf: foes. They loose Coomb's,Lacy and Steele. Lacy has made some lists and will be missed.    GO LORDS!

I just saw on the ESPN crawl that the NCAA Football Rules Committee has voted for a proposal to repeal the utterly ridiculous clock/timing rules that were adopted in 2006.  An official vote is set for March 12.  This will certainly be bigger news than the NCAA hoops play-in game slated for the same day.   :)

As an add-on to the previous post about the timing/clock rules reverting back to 2005's rules....the committee is still committed to shortening the length of games.  As such they've proposed a number of other changes that are designed to shorten the length of games without cutting out the number of plays teams run on average during a game.  Most of these new suggestions are cutting time after tv timeouts (a :15 play clock will be used following a media timeout) and limiting instant replay time...these won't affect D-III.  What will affect D-III is the proposal to move kickoffs back from the 35 yard line to the 30 yard line.  I think we'll see a lot of short fields this year.
