ScotLass,

I need a reason to believe Wooster is actually going to have a decent passing game this year. Outside of 2004, when Sutton was in the backfield and McNally was catching passes, Wooster's passing game has been very mediocre since Schmitz has been the head coach. Which is strange, as it was extremely effective when he was just the O-coordinator under Jim Barnes.

I think the schedule is in Kenyon's favor this year. They miss Wabash and Witt and have Allegheny and OWU at home. They do have to travel to Wooster. They could sneak into third based on that schedule.

Potential Upsets: Wabash at Allegheny, Witt at Allegheny, Denison at Kenyon, Earlham at Denison, Hiram at Oberlin, Kenyon at Wooster, Wabash at OWU, Wooster at Witt, Wooster at Allegheny, Wabash at Wooster.

Basically, Wabash has a target on its back and plays three tough teams on the road in the conference. And it's always a treat to play in Meadville.

As for non-conference: It would be huge if the NCAC took care of business and beat their opponents from the Heartland and the UAA. I don't see Witt or Wooster beating their OAC foes, but taking care of the Heartland and UAA teams would be a big step.

BashBro or Wally,

Sorry, where is the NCAC pick'em page...can't find it.

You guys hear about all the scuttle-butt with Wheaton's player that did a modeling gig for Abercrombie???  The commercial's link is on Youtube (or on the CICW board) - all kinds of controversy.

usee

no scuttlebutt, just a good looking db.

any bash faithful coming up this weekend for the scrimmage?

Saucy modeling is very un-Wheaton...I can see how such a thing would stir the pot up there in Wheaton a little bit.

usee, I'll be passing on the Wheaton scrimmage this weekend.  This is my one Saturday of the season that I get to veg out and watch college football all day...from Gameday all the way through the end of whatever Pac-10 laugher wraps up week 1.  It's my own little calm before the 10-week whirlwind that is the Wabash season (discussions have been held pointing to my making all 10 regular season games this year...which would be a first...the hurdle will be committing to the Gheny trip).  I'm looking forward to my trips to Selby and Papp this year.   :)

I've driven that far for 15 minute hearings just to turn around and drive back to SA. You can bet I'd drive that far to see a Wabash football game.  Quit being such a Nancy Boy. ;)

Won't be at the scrimage this weekend...I'll be on a 100 mile bike ride...but plan on being in C'ville next weekend for the Franklin game.

I wouldn't drive a mile in that cursed car of yours.

And I'd be up for the Gheny trip, but that day is Wabash Day, and I've already committed to volunteering in Indy.  Pretty sure Jon Pactor would hunt me down for reneging.

Best to all the NCAC teams this weekend...get us off to a good start!

Both teams making the playoffs is not outside the realm of possibility - depending on how things fall elsewhere in the region and if Wheaton and NCC take care of their own business.  CCIW has had 2 reps in the playoffs on some years recently.

But as you say... there is a high chance one of them will be in the playoffs (though Augie might have something to say about that...)

While I am always optimistic, I temper it with realism. I wouldn't bet the house on this being the year of the passing game. There are issues on a number of fronts that will hopefully work themselves out over the coarse of the season for the Scots.
