I would guess that CC won't announce an official starter until gametime on Saturday, but certainly not before the weekly press release comes out today or tomorrow.  Expect the QB line on the two-deep this week to have the ever ambiguous "Hudson OR Augie".

I believe Kyle can wear a #21 jersey as long he's not on the field at the same time as Roomes.  I'll assume that he'll have a unique number on Saturday though.

Was anyone at the Wheaton scrimmage?  Did they both play?

What would OWU do?  When did they announce that Hymes would not be the starter last week?  :)

I seem to remember Smed telling a story about how Wabash had two players with the same number on the field on a kickoff and we got an illegal participation penalty out of the deal. I think as long as they're not on the field at the same time we're kosher.

At least there is a chance that Huff will be back before the end of the season but even that is not a given.

Recovery is 6-8 weeks(more likely toward the 8 weeks with the ligament tear).

Plus that time starts after the surgery this friday.  7 weeks would be denison.  8 weeks would be monon bell.

If somehow we can still pull out the conference title he could be back for a playoff run.

I would expect to see limited duty against Denison just to get him comfortable and then if possible to come back for the Monon Bell.

Good luck Wabash.  Good luck #4 our prayers are with you.

Yes, it was a punt. Wabash blocked a punt by #42, but the problem was there was two #42s on the field. Oops. Illegal participation.

It should be no problem. This happens from time to time.

Anyone think the "starter" will be in name only, and that Hudson and Aug. will split series to see how each performs in a game situation?

I hope not.  The next time musical quarterbacks is actually effective will be the first time.  If CC wants to see these guys each play in a "game situation" I'd hope that he lets one guy play one half and the other guy play the other.  But even that I don't really like.  I'm hoping CC picks one guy and goes with him.

Agreed Wally.

Since, this event is somewhat unprecedented in the CC era, its tough to say.  In 2003 & 2004, CC did use multiple QB's at times and even used them in the same game (Huff, Washington '04 etc.)

In my experience the situations in which coaches have played QB#1 the 1st and 3rd quarters and then QB#2 the 2nd and the fourth or other formulas have all been ineffective and rarely productive.  (Mostly D1 schools I have experienced this with)

I have faith that CC will make the right decisions and put the person that gives us the best chance to win in the spot.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

I didn't know the extent of QB Hymes injury....I heard he was "banged-up" but I thought he would play vs Catholic. Jr QB Boff is able but Hymes threw 32 balls vs Franklin while Boff thre 17 vs Catholic...total yds weren't to far apart. . Frosh Mike Fisher threw one ball...he could be outstanding...the typical"athlete player." Hymes was a Witt Tiger WR for his frosh year before he switched. Having the bye on Saturday is going to benefit the Bishops in healing & to figure out how to finally beat the LG's. GO BISHOPS

aueagle, its great to see you continue to post on OWU. I still follow them and wish them well. I know I can count on you to keep me informed of what is going on with the program.

aueagle

Thanks kcreds...I am pulling for the "Boys Down By The River"....I like the Pios coach...I even did a recruit visit there too....I wanted to be on the rowing team & play ball. Hope Jr is well...I wish he was still Red & Black.

kcreds

aueagle: Very nice of you to make such a comment about JR.. Coach W is a little more progressive than Coach H but I respect both of them. Could be a long year for the Pios and Bishops but the season is young. Goooooo Pios! Go Bishops!

I've noticed some numbers switching around the young players, so probably they moved him there so he wouldn't be a dupe.

I'd have to go with #14  Matt Hudson Since he have been in the system longer and I like the 6'6" 220+ size.

I am sure that CC and staff will make the best choice.
