WOOSTER is struggling to say the least. A big part of the problem is the lack of a go to wide out. This has been a problem since 04. 04 saw Mcnally and Slovensky with more receptions than the top wideout of 05 and 06. Since 04, Woo has had little luck at stretching the field with their wideouts. The game at Case was a case in point, as Woo's wideouts had trouble getting seperation. It seems obvious that Woo's staff is hell bent on putting the ball in the air, so it will be interesting to see if the wideouts can improve and take advantage of the situation.

Wooster had a wide out in 2005. 4.4, great hands...needed a friggin' helmet.

Ted Ginn Jr was at Woo in 2005?  How did I miss that?  ;D

After having Ted Ginn Jr down here in Miami for the past month.  Ohio can have him back.   ;D

Maybe that's why the program is going downhill.

Downhill???  If the coaching staff doesn't do something soon, This Program will slip right to the deepest darkest depths of the Marinas trench.. I  Wonder if they can apply for a research grant???

Wooster actually had a Ted Ginn type player in the late 90's. Anyway, I  know he was fast. Ran track and heard he actually had a tryout with the Browns. But they did not throw to him a lot. Always threw to the other receiver who was good, but not a deep threat and who was the qb's favorite target.
Now, can OWU beat Kenyon this week and does Wooster have a chance against Witt?

Actually Ray and Good (the players you refer to) both hold some individual season records from the late 90's. I think Good was a year ahead of Ray, but statistically they were both utilized and Woo was blessed with either as an option. Those were the good ole days.... ;)

I think the chance of Wooster getting past Witt this Sat. Is about as good as Kmart staging a comeback and pushing Wal-Mart into chapter 11.. :D ;)

Absolutely there's a way Woo gets by Witt and there's a chance they will do it, BUT I wouldn't leave it up to chance.....some serious adjustments in game plan and attitudes are the way to do it and hopefully some of that will come this week. If not, then I think the fans should be able to drink booze in the stands to take the edge off.... ;D

The best part of hanging out with the Pep Band guys (I have NO musical talent) was sneaking the booze into Hollett by hiding it inside of the sousaphone.

It's hard for me to say about the WRs, but I don't have to, Schmitz has done it for us. He has said the WRs are one of his top positions (and has been the top position they have recruited for the last two years, maybe three). See season outlook:

If the WRs aren't good (which I'm not sure is true, it is more of an issue of what type of plays are run for them and who is throwing them the ball), then what does that say about the other positions?

Or, using paper mache and chicken wire to build a bear for our pledge class cheer at Homecoming, and using the bear to smuggle a pony keg into the stadium.  Of course, Dean Moore did remark as we were walking into the stadium that "Gentlemen, your bear is gurgling..." but it didn't stop us from having TWR during the game.  Ah, the joys of Homecoming week remembrances.

Amen to that!  I'm a Dolphins fan, and draft day was the angriest I had ever been at that team.  Sigh...at least Ronnie looked good yesterday.

Anyway, back to the matters of this board, looking forward to this weekend's game - while everyone seems to be down on Wooster (and, given their performances this season, rightfully so), it is still Witt-Wooster, and even though it isn't as intense as the basketball rivalry, it usually provides for a good game (see last year's nailbiter).  Hopefully Witt can keep their momentum going and stay strong heading into the start of their conference campaign.
