Gah, the NCAC's POW is rather ridiculous. It is in hoops too.

That's good to know.....this way bashbrother doesn't need anymore counseling.....if a Wabash player got it, it would just be ridiculous...... ;)

"I'm definitely getting in a rhythm, definitely since the Earlham game," Hudson said. "I feel like our running game has really started to step up – the first few weeks we struggled with that a little bit. The last four weeks we were able to run the ball and that really makes my job a lot easier. That and I have the best receiving corps in the country and a great offensive line, so they all make it pretty easy on me."

"I definitely feel comfortable with it because I don't feel with Mike Russell, Bart Banach, and Brock Graham and those guys anything bad is going to happen," Hudson said of the deep pass. "I feel like if I throw it downfield its either going to be an incompletion or they're going to catch it for a touchdown. They're not going to let anybody pick the ball off. I've got guys who can jump out of the gym and they make it pretty easy."

Now see, here's a guy I'd vote for as NCAC POW, ridiculous or not. Not because I can't fully appreciate the efforts of guys on lesser teams who clearly deserve recognition and congratulations for a job well done. Naw, see I'd vote for this guy because he plays the game, does an outstanding job, and recognizes he looks good in great part due to the contributions of others. This guy takes nothing for granted. This guy handles being a winner with grace. This guy knows how to be humble. No arrogance here.

What a rare thing......these youngsters nowadays say the darndest things....oh that we all could learn something from it  ;)

Yeah, it will be lots of fun for Wooster folks.  We will get to see the NCAC 2007 champs. And the offensive and defensive Players of the Year in the NCAC, in my humble opinion.  No one in Crawfordsville or anywhere else for that matter, expected Hudson to do as well as he has after taking over.  And Adi as you all call him is far and away the best player in the league. By far! Has the league ever had both POY's from the same team? My road crew and I have seen every player of note this year and Pyenberg and Hudson are the only two choices.
As I stated before the Wooster-Witt game, there is no way Wooster will even make a game of it on Saturday.  As much as I love them and have enjoyed watching them at home and on the road over the years, when allowed, I have seen nothing this year to expect anything but a route on Saturday.  It will be a joy to see Wabash again, because  the team and coaches have always carried themselves with class. I hope that Woo can be a contender again soon. But it will take more than me wishing it. Woo needs much better  players AND much better coaching/coaches. Every team in the NCAC, other than Wabash and Witt can relate I would think. Hiram may have actually turned a small corner this year if the guy can gut it out. Thank you, Tony Sutton, for three years of greatness.
And we WILL be in Alliance when Wabash plays Mt. Union in a few weeks. There, I said it.

nike......

Are you only a Woo fan once in a while....like in 2004???? You know, I have been at every game too......most of them disappointing primarily because I hate to see anyone, coach or player, not rise to their potential. I can also be very specific about areas we need improvement, rather than vague sweeping comments. BUT, I am never a fair weather fan and I am capable of congratulating those who are having a good season....even if they are on another team.....BUT there is a difference between that and being willing to basically sell your team down the river when things aren't going well. No true fan would ever do that. AND there's a difference between honest congratulations and just plain nauseating prose!  >:(

Being such a fan nike, one would expect you to know that in 2004 Woo had the OPOY, DPOY, AND Coach of the Year!

This has happened a few times.  In 2002, Wabash also had the OPOY, DPOY, and COY.  Some kid named Sutton kept Wabash from sweeping the awards.   ;)

In 1998 Witt swept the postseason awards.  And of course the aforementioned 2004 Wooster awards haul.

Scotlass - Welcome to the Karma Club - but as a karma chameleon - it comes and goes. It comes and goes. I was at about -12 or something after I gave the OAC trolls a shot somewhere, but it was worth it! Just use it wisely, grasshopper!

No one expected Hudson to have this season, but to be honest, Augie probably has the talent to have done the same thing, or close to it. Creighton knows how to recruit QBs, and he knows what kind of QBs to recruit.

Gosh, you look back in the archives and I thought that a QB injury would be the thing that crippled Wabash's season - and no one disputed it, really - just said that hadn't happened in a while.

You know, Wooster just needs to build. If you build a o-line and a defense, good things happen and the skill players get an awful lot better. Yes, Sutton was great but the o-line and D of those Wooster teams were pretty darn good too. Without that, Sutton is O. V. Carroll. A good back on a team that needs help.

Think about it. There but for the grace of the line and the D go I....

As usual, I have nothing to add to this fine analysis of NCAC football.

However, I did want to point out that I thoroughly enjoyed the awful Culture Club reference and the equally as Karate Kid mention.

Keep up the great work.
"There's no energy. What is it with you guys? I don't get it. You win one game against a decent team and then you think you just have to show up to win on the road? Now I know why Bob Knight gets caught on film hitting kids on the chin!"

Cool. Although going on the OAC board and calling them 'knuckle dragging mouthbreathers' or something similar isn't recommended for karma consistency!
