Attention all Wabash men (and anyone else who'd like to help)
There is a link in Keith McMillan's Around the Nation article where you can cast a vote for the Div. III coach of the year. In my estimation, because I know this man to some extent, Chris Creighton should get every vote. So, I'm calling on all Wabash men to cast a vote for CC. "Thy loyal sons shall ever love thee".

WAF78,

Thanks for the heads up.  Will do.  Curious, are you an alum plus a current parent?

BashBro - obviously not comparing Matt Hudson to Russ Harbaugh but as a TEAM, I see a lot of similarities.  Where Harbaugh was huge, this team has some areas stronger then '05.  Of course, if you insert Dustin Huff at QB and a 100% Mike Russell at WR and the best 5 O-linemen we "could have put out there"  (injuries, etc.) we may very well be talking about the best Bash team ever.  Interesting to think about.  The one constant on CC's '02, '05, and this squad is very strong senior leadership - to me, that is the biggest similarity.

...concerned about weather and field conditions for Saturday at Wooster.  Scotlass...any more updates on forecast and condition of playing surface???

nike

Is Mike Russell playing hurt? was in Wooster yesterday and was told they have had at least a couple inches of rain this week and expect almost an inch tomorrow. 30% chance Saturday.
Sure ScottLass will have more.
Have noticed the mass subbing of the lines she mentioned earlier, especially on defense.  I sit right above the team and see them going and coming off the field. To me the D-linemen just looked gassed.  They have spent a lot of time on the field during the games I have seen, especially OWU, which they won.  With the offense having a lot of three and outs, the bigs up front are on the field quite a bit.

BB16 -

Yeah... the rain may trim the package a bit, but I think that wind affects an offense more.  Right now, it looks the they are calling for a 60% chance of rain and winds 10-15 mph which is not that bad.   I could see Sobecki doing very well on a muddy track.  Also, I believe, as many do, that the offense has an advantage over the defense with tough field conditions.

We'll be ready to roll.

Question - Do Kilts handle water very well?
Why should you go for it on 4th down?

I agree with this to a certain degree.  The exception is our Pass Defense is still behind 02 & 05 and really has not been impacted by injury as far as I know.  They are getting better, but still not there.

Nike,

Russell has nursed a foot injury since the preseason but luckily has improved each week.  Can't recall the medical term for it.  I think he came back in week 5 and has had 2 consecutive games over 100 yards.  Tell Woo DBs to triple cover him, Bash doesn't have any other weapons...  ;D

Bashbro - I will take Nike's 30% over your forecast.

When is Wooster's weekly release posted, looks like they are behind schedule?

bashbrother

me too.....but here's where I am getting it from.

I am almost more concerned about the 70% chance of rain that it states for tomorrow.

Does anyone know if there is any chance that Huff could return this year?

With Hudson playing as well as he is it would be hard to make the switch I chink because don't know what kind of rust Huff could have but was wondering if anyone in the know has heard if Huff may return before the end of the season.

smedindy

I think Russell has a lisfranc injury.

nike......looks like the new president is serious about upgrades. Here's a report from this weekend's board meeting.........yeahhhhhhhhhhh!  ;D

"In my view and that of the board, however, there is no need more urgent than the building of a new campus center. The current Lowry Student Center and Armington Physical Education Center have served the campus well, but they are tired and out of date.  The facility we need to build is a fully integrated campus center, where the full range of campus social life, athletics, and recreation are merged and intermingled.

This project holds the promise of bringing vibrancy to campus life and student experience that will add significantly to our overall mission while also fueling our admissions and retention efforts.  The proximity of Lowry and Armington offers a unique opportunity to build an integrated campus center that will surpass, in its function and contribution to the quality of campus life, what competitors have done.

A Campus Center Steering Committee, chaired by Jackie Middleton, has begun the complex task of engaging all segments of the campus community in a process of envisioning what this facility can and should be. Meanwhile, I am working with members of the board and the administration to develop a timetable, financial plan, and fund-raising plan for what is likely to be the largest, most strategically important, and most complex facilities project the College has undertaken since the simultaneous construction of Kauke, Scovel, Severance, and Taylor halls following the destruction of Old Main."

WOW!!!!!! He did not mention Papp, but maybe that is next week.  In all seriousness, this guy has really impressed folks since he arrived and underwent a heck of an interview process.  I am sure he will be at the game Saturday if he is in town.  Have seen him at the others.
How many Wabash folks will be coming?
I am sure the players know that this game could make Wooster's season a bit brighter, playing a top rated undefeated team. That should bring out their best.

Just get the paper towel dispenser in the mens room functional. Go Scots.

My wife and girls will not venture into the ladies' room of Papp. They go to Lowry.
