W&J damn near got a nasty surprise, too.

Wheaton waxes Elmhurst on the road. Still looks like #3 seed for Wabash if they beat Denison and DePauw.

Frankly, I don't see anyone beating Mt. Union until the Stagg Bowl. It could be another Whitewater - Mt. Union affair, though St. John's is really good - they just have moments of poor play.

Witt with a solid, ho-hum win over Oberlin 38-14.  Andy Vanover with a big day, scoring three TDs and having a career high in rushing yardage.  Nice to see Andy with two very solid games after the way the Wabash game ended.

Also, since there isn't a volleyball board, and I feel like mentioning it, congratulations to the #1 ranked Wittenberg volleyball team, who finished the first undefeated regular season (32-0) in school history last night with a 3-1 win over #2 Juniata.

Coupled in with the women's soccer team wrapping up the conference title, great week for the Tigers!

OK ... a thin layer of wax.

Wabash has had trouble with running QBs all year.  Figure Wabash D over compensated for Shepard ... and got bit by a very fine QB.  Speed and guts.  Portends well for Woo future.  NN will being them back to normal.

Also figure this was Woo's bowl game and they came to play.  Props to Woo coaching on some fine ingenious play calling and also to the team for inspired execution.

Still, 'Bash has played as they have all year.  Making sure with whatever it takes to win.  8-0 is the bottom line.  Will be 9-0 this time next week ... then Marks will find out that unless he is a QB ... do not expect the Wabash D to allow him to run.  PLUS with a name like Spud Dick ...

Should be a great game next Sat.  At home.  If things work out, lots of players get to play.  Hope Killer is there to give to and get a game ball from Adi.  All should have a couple of weeks to get healthy before DePauw.

Then DePauw To Hell ... we have the Bell.

13 Tackles, 2 sacks, 1 INT; NCAC pow for #40 anyone?!

BashJB49

Oh, and add 4.5 TFL and one Pass Brk up to that list

Remember, this is the NCAC. Whose turn is it for a POY?

All in all, not a bad day. Woo performed well with season highs in 1st downs, rushing yards, and total offense against Bash. Holter certainly played tough (in spite of the 2 INT's being costly). There's some Fight in me Scots... ;) Got to seize the opportunities though……2/4 in the red zone today, just like at Gheny.....just that close. Woo is clearly moving in the right direction. A ways to go, but definitely heading there.  ;D

Am sure the LG's will tighten things up heading into DePauw and the playoffs. Best wishes!  ;)

Gang,

I'd still make the argument that Case should be awarded the NCAC title if we beat OWU.

After all, we'll be 5-0 against the NCAC at that point.

Incidentally, we rolled to 8-0 with a 35-3 win over Chicago today, and clinched at least a share of the UAA title.

Congrats to OWU on their win against a tough Gheny team.  Looks like I'll be rooting for another team on Bell weekend thanks to comments like that.

You need to check out the ending to the Millsaps / Trinity game. It's unbelievable:

What's more unbelievable is that Millsaps let Trinity have this sliver of a chance. Why not take the delay penalty, with seven seconds left you could tell your punter to kick it as HIGH in the air as he could or something, right?

And what's even more unbelievable is that the highlight just led off SportsCenter! ESPN, recognizing something D3 football OTHER than the Stagg Bowl?  And putting it before the Red Sox?  Truly shocking!

That was a wild play though.  Awesome to be able to see video of it and not just read about it.

On location from C-bus and totally against my better judgement, some Saturday thoughts....

- That Millsaps/Trinity play is ridiculous.  Completely ridiculous.  With a seemingly weaker than usual crop of pool C candidates, how bad is Millsaps feeling right now for blowing off that first game?

- Woo/Wabash thoughts....Wabash was fortunate to leave town with a win.  The LGs were totally outplayed at Papp.  Major kudos to the Scots for coming strong, but Wabash had to leave feeling like anything but a champion.  It was a really, really pedestrian effort from Wabash today and I believe that if the experience/talent level were even the slightest bit more balanced, Wooster would have won and probably would have won pretty handily.  It's a good thing Adi came to play...he saved Wabash's bacon up in Wooster.

- With all the bad  you can say about Wabash's game today, the LGs are 8-0 and are in the playoffs.  That's the bottom line.  This makes 12 W's in a row for Wabash and I'm hoping to see that streak hit the teens.

- I doubled down on the dogs at Papp.  Best D-III stadium dogs I've ever had.   :)

- OSU fans are nuts.

I almost forgot....MajorSpartan, are you serious?  Crowning yourself NCAC champ without having played any of Wabash, Witt, or Allegheny?  Maybe CWRU can beat those teams...maybe not.  But those teams aren't on the schedule so we'll never know.
