- That Millsaps/Trinity play is ridiculous.  Completely ridiculous.  With a seemingly weaker than usual crop of pool C candidates, how bad is Millsaps feeling right now for blowing off that first game?

Careful where you say that ... some are sensitive.

You need to check out the ending to the Millsaps / Trinity game. It's unbelievable:

http://www.d3football.com/notables/2007/10/27/Trinity+tops+Millsaps+with+miracle+finish

What's more unbelievable is that Millsaps let Trinity have this sliver of a chance. Why not take the delay penalty, with seven seconds left you could tell your punter to kick it as HIGH in the air as he could or something, right?

I think it's number 35 (hard to tell with the quality of the feed), who is just sitting there on that very last lateral, and he doesn't even make an attempt on Curry.  That guys not going to have legs after the next practice.  I know the ball hit the ground, but man, play til the whistle.

A good recap of the Woo effort.....one the team can be proud of....GO SCOTS!!!!

I didn't realize DT Josh Gangloff (6'3 268) didn't play yesterday and he is probably our best run stopper inside - typically at nose.  Not saying that is why they ran on us but worth noting.  Credit the Scots with a nice game plan and Holter's effectiveness out of the backfield.

The Wabash juniors are now 27-3.

Smeds - just because 3 teams lost ahead of Wabash doesn't mean they'll move up.  If any top 25  (or top 40) teams played tough but lost, they could jump them.   ;D

That Trinity/Millsaps play was incredible.  It did seem like the Millsaps players just quit - the call was great too on ESPN today.  Wow!  Those weren't laterals, more like desperation hook shots.  Looked totally like a scene from a local 5th grade recess of "kill the man with the ball."  ------"The Miracle in Mississippi."

Another positive for Wabash - WE DIDN'T MISS AN EXTRA POINT.  Oehler did a nice job there.  Adi Pynenberg's stat line is crazy with 13 tackles, 4 TFL, 2 sacks, and an INT.

Anyone surprised with Kenyon's loss to Denison?  Another hit for Kenyon players' post season awards - most definitely NCAC POY.  What about Witt's Vanover???  He is coming on.

Not so much surprised that Denison won, but there was 1000 yds of total offense in the game and Denison had 3 players rush for over 100 yds (QB Barnes for 190, 85 more than Holter yesterday!)........eeeewwww!   :o

MajorSpartan,

Not sure where that post came from?  Are you serious?  Stay on your conference site.  Your schedule to this point in the season is downright gross.

Go WashU!!!

93 (Josh Gangloff, JR) did not practice all week.  Hope to see him in there next week at home.  Heard D-line coach (Neal Neathery) said he was missed yesterday.  I listened on-line yesterday and can't remember how many times I heard them running up the middle.  Josh is one of the many d-line that require double teaming.

Thoughts on this past NCAC action:

Congrats to Wabash on basically clinching a share of the NCAC crown.... Even though Denison "upsetted" Kenyon last weekend..... i find it hard to believe it will happen two weeks in a row...... Wooster played real well and put forth a good effort....OWU is definitly an underrated team...they had Wittenberg on the ropes and knocked off Allegheny... and has played solid football the last 3 weeks.....they did hold Wabash to 15 points....

After witnessing the Wittenberg/Oberlin Matchup.... i think RV Carroll should be the frontrunner for OPY.... he has put up impressive numbers all season and averaged over 5.0 ypc  against both Wittenberg and Wabash.... Heard in the stands that Wittenberg all week  had a poster of some sorts all over campus of RV Carroll calling him "the truth".... The offensive line for Oberlin....has done a good job all year opening holes for Carroll....

Sanchez  putting up only 60 yards on the ground and 200 yards in the air agaisnt a lowly Denison team wont cut it for OPY..... considering RV ran for 150 yards... and Hudson should pick them apart next week...

Hudson is having a great season...but has soo much talent around him and with great coaching by CC that any other QB could probably succeed as well....

D3ncacfootball,

Maybe its just me but I have a tough time with the O MVP of the league coming from a team outside of the top 2-3 teams.  I have seen him play, he ripped off one nice run for 45 yards on a great play call, but aside from that, was a non factor all day long.  To add, he was pretty chippy when his team was getting schooled and out of the game by the end of the 1st quarter.  I wouldn't think that would help his cause when its time to vote.  They will likely end with 4 league losses and maybe 5???

It will be interesting though...

WOW - Woo put a great effort against Bash, shocked me. Maybe there is a light at the end of the tunnel after all. Rushing game was impresive, with Shep being a senior next year who is waiting in the wings to carry on when he is gone?

short

BB16,
Oberlin will not lose 3 games in two weeks! RV is the best player and his team is in the top 3 of the NCAC

1. Wabash, 2. Witt, 3. Oberlin... plus look at Oberlin's out of league games W&J, Case, Middle of the road OAC team! Not to Bad!

BashBacker#16

Short,

Sorry, that's why I was a history major and NOT a math major :)

Oberlin could lose to Kenyon and then expect them to lose to Allegheny...so potentially add 2 more losses - which would put them at 3-4 in the conference.  Wins would be from Hiram, Denison, and Earlham.  Nothing at all against the kid, I just don't think he is the best offensive player in the conference.  My 2 cents.  If Vanover has a big days in the last 2 games, he is my pick (prediction).
