Big week for everyone...the focus is & should be on LG's...The Bell & they carry our banner into the playoffs...win the DPU game & head to Salem!
Ohio Wesleyan has their hands full; CWRU QB Walen is a 62% passer & leads the UAA with over 1500 yds/16 TD's....Case WR Cowdrick leads UAA w/over 830 yds.
Plus, All-American LB Brew makes plays all over..
Bishops need big games from Fisher to Dennis passing combo....Punt team needs to step-up...season ave is 33 yds/per....No mistakes if ya kick it short!
Inspirational "D" leader LB Weisman needs a big game..This guy "Hits" violently...
OWU has not helped the NCAC this year...losing to ODAC, HCAC...with the UAA/NCAC agreement, we can't afford to lose to the UAA now...even if Case is play-off bound...
GO BISHOPS

Going back a little over a week ago for the Michigan vs Minnesota game the announcers were saying that the little brown jug is the oldest trophy in the NCAA for football.  Did they mean D-1.  Bash fans how long has the Bell been traded back and forth?

Conclusion to your original inquiry, Old Scot, the current series record is 53-51-9, Wabash, but the actual "Bell games" tally is 35-34-6, Dannies.  It's been traded/stolen back and forth quite a bit in the last seventy-five years.  ;)

Best of luck to all NCACer's this week, especially to OWU - opportunity to create some discontent for the UAA and future scheduling, and probably wouldn't hurt the feelings of some on the HCAC board either.  ;D

tick ... Tick ... TICK ... TICK

Go Wabash and wax the Dannies !!!  Man it should be a heck of a game.

Go OWU ... I have believed in your hardness and heart all year and rooted for you to show it.  Now is a very fine time to do so.

Men of Wabash: Thanks for the support...much appreciated...
Kudos to OWU WR Zach Dennis and his 10 grabs/219 yds vs Hiram...
Ranks #4 on the OWU all-time single game...
NCAC Player of the Week - Congrats in his last season...

Go Bishops!....

Congrats to Dennis.....a quality player for quite a while in Delaware.

I think if the Bishops execute, they have a real shot this weekend.   ;)

While the Little Brown Jug may be the 'oldest' trophy in college football, the one-sidedness of the series really doesn't qualify it as much of a rivalry any more.  Although, the Michigan v. Michigan State series is supposed to be a rivalry even though the results for that series are about as one-sided as the Michigan v. Minnesota series is! ::)

CWRU "D" holds 'em to 13.7pts.
aue, if you subtract the 21 pts that the O and ST gave up, the D is only giving up 11.4!!

If we could subtract the 13 pts we gave up to Capital and add 2pts, and add 8 pts to the Wabash score, we'd be 9-0 heading into Hiram.;D

I anticipate the smack for the UAA-NCAC series to be good....
I just didn't think it would start already.......

smedindy

Three of the four UAA teams have really improved their program recently. I think that was the fear that the UAA wouldn't do much to help the NCAC prepare for the conference season and / or playoffs.

You've responded with a pointless post to one that's point was that while opponents scored an average of 13.7 pts against CWRU; only an average of 11.4 were against the "D."

Chicago was 3-0  UAA champ 2 years ago, but crashed the last two seasons.  WUStL and CMU have historically been strong programs, but CMU's playoff appearance and WUStL's win over North Central got attention.  CWRU has dramatically improved under Coaches Perella and Debeljak.

Cowdrick is likely out for the season, almost certainly for the OWU game.  he was mostly a possession reciever while Nicely has developed into a deep threat.
