Witt wins, Wabash doesn't go undefeated, and Ohio State loses and is thusly eliminated from the national title picture.  What a day!  All I need is for the Dolphins to win tomorrow, and it would be a spectacular weekend of football!

FC will not play MSJ in first round as conference foes do not play each other in the first round.  FC should move to a 4 at the very minumum and host Wheaton or Wabash.  Wabash is not better than FC right now. FC should be a 3 but we will see

I do think Wabash is a 3. This loss won't drop them down that far in the regional rankings.

Big congrats to Woo for turning around what early in the season appeared to be a sinking ship ;) Wowee....what happened to Kenyon....yikes. :o A fabulous day for me Scots at Papp. Even the Pipers showed up with war paint ;D

Best wishes to Wabash in the playoffs....am so sorry about the Bell.... :'(

There's no way Wabash can drop below Franklin unless the NCAA wants a riot on headquarters tomorrow.  #3 looks like a safe bet.

Thanks for the condolences, Lass...was a tough ending to watch if you could watch (I couldn't).  These players will bounce back and do themselves, the insttiution, and the NCAC well in these playoffs.

Thanks, ScotLass. Unlike Wally, I was able to watch as DPU's kicker absolutely devastated half the stadium. I wish I hadn't.

By the way, Wally and GoBash, thanks for showing me and Mrs. L'il Giant a great time tailgating. It was her first Monon Bell and she saw the best of it. Well, except for the outcome of the game that is.  ;)

Don't worry fellas, despite what I said yesterday, it won't be our last Bell, either.  ;D

If you compare each teams SOS, Wabash gets the nod!!  I do not think Wabash moves down in the Regional Rankings b/c of the rival loss...heck, Cap will probabaly get in & they had a rival loss against cross-town foe Otterbein!!

Alright Wab men......get those LG's to strap it on for the play-offs!  My guess is you didn't lose the 2nd seed, so here's seeing you in three weeks.  If you defend your home turf (and even with a depleted CAP offense you will have your hands full), we can get on to Mount-Wabash 2007.  I know both teams have a long way to go.....but I am SOMEWHAT confident that Mount will hold up it's end of the bargain.   ;D

Darn...another year of not getting Wabash!   :-\

Old conference foes meet again. Should be a great game. How far away is Wabash from Cincinnati?

I had a dream that the D-III tournament selection committee chair called me this morning...the conversation went something like this:

Chairman: So are there any favors I can do for you today?
wally: I'd hate for you to compromise your bracket in any way, but there are some things.  First, could you put Wabash in a subregion with first time playoff team?
Chairman: Done.
wally: And while we're at it, this region is tough.  Could you put the tougher teams in the other half of the bracket so that two of them would be knocked out before Wabash had to deal with them?
Chairman: I don't see why not.  Let's do it.
wally: And could you put Mount Union as far as possible away from Wabash.  That would help out a bunch too.
Chairman: Seems reasonable.  We can hook you up, wally.
wally: Your next round is on me, buddy.  Thanks a lot.

Seriously...I couldn't have asked for a better draw.  There's nothing easy about the UWWW region, but it beats the heck out of being in the MUC region.  Hope springs eternal, Little Giants.  Take advantage of this opportunity!

Who wouldn't love to celebrate the 30-year anniversary of the classic 1977 Stagg Bowl with a playoff rematch in C'ville in the second round.   :)

Likewise skunks.  Unless it's in the Stagg Bowl.  (One can always dream  :))

Speaking of which, a possible rematch of the 1977 Stagg Bowl between Wabash and Widener in the second round.  But let's not get ahead of ourselves . . .
Long shall we sing thy praises, Old Wabash
