Congrats to the LG's for a great season.  Thanks to the Seniors for all their hard work.

I have a friend who went to law school at Washburn. She'd agree with you.

Just wanted to come on and give my congrats to the Little Giants and their terrific fans for a great season.  You said your fans travel well and you were absolutely right.  Very impressed with all the red, presence in the parking lot, flags, and enthusiasm!  Talked to several before the game and all were very classy.  Glad to hear that you all got home safely.   Good luck next season.

It has been fun. Congrats Wabash!  See you next year in Crawfordsville.
By the way, I know several kids who now play for MUC and are seniors.  Only two will ever earn a letter, at least on the field. But they would not trade all the practices and experiences for anything.  And from what I gather, Kehres loves them all.  NCAC folks respect football in the NCAC, OAC or where ever.  And MUC just wins. Period!

I'm sorry, but IMO, any student-athlete who sticks it out for 4 years in a program, even if they didn't play much, should earn a letter.  Obviously, it doesn't work that way at the DI level, however, again, IMO, it should and most certainly at the DIII level.

Yes, congrats to Wabash on a very good year.  I would have liked to see them advance, yet it "just wasn't in the cards this year".

I agree with you. My point was these kids loved the experience. I do not know that they do not get a letter-the one for a jacket. What I was saying is that several have never started or played many minutes at all, but still are made to feel like they are a valuable part of the team, which they are.  And they are as excited about playing there as the two I know that have started for three years. To do that for four or five years and not see significant playing time speaks to the enjoyment of playing at Mount, or anywhere like that.  Know a couple gentlemen who played at OSU years ago, could have started at  other schools , but still speak in awe of Woody Hayes, even though they did not see much time on the field there.  Hope this helps.

Just now got home from Siberia.   ;)  My flight out of Midway got cancelled last night....... so we just pulled up in Beloit (I - 90 was nasty).   Had an 18-wheeler lose it on the ice and almost swallow my rental, said enough was enough and pulled over.  I don't think they have many snowplows in Wisconsin......

Glad everyone got home safe.

Why should you go for it on 4th down?

All of the snowplows are in Minnesota, because they cleared the roads here lickety split.

Thanks L'il Giant.   The tailgate was unreal.  16, Wally & all.  thanks for the good time.

Every single UW-W fan that I ran into was top-notch and they were somewhat shocked at the turnout by the Bash faithful.

Their stadium is rediculous, their jumbo-tron is as hooked up as anything I have seen.

Thanks for being great hosts Warhawks...... good luck next week.

Wanted to take the opportunity to give the Little Giants and their fans kudos for a great season.  As always, you have represented the NCAC with dignity and class.  Good luck to all of your seniors and in recruiting.  It has been fun following you the last few weeks.

unknowme22 said it best regarding the 2007 edition of the Little Giants. Well, maybe not so much in the recruiting area! But, it has been great to see Wabash go deep into the playoffs.

Musings from Whitewater:
... great stadium, we should all have one like that ... it has to be a recruiting attraction
... very nice Whitewater fans ... and this was determined before the game when you could still get around without a snowplow ... tipped a few with them ... good people
... great Wabash gathering, geographically, generationally, administration, leadership, just plane Little Giant folks.  You come to expect/accept that ... but Saturday in the middle of lower Wisc. with weather predictions which then lived up to the prediction ... it was a tribute to the team and to Wabash
... the Warhawks were better, no question.  I just wished we could have played them under kinder weather conditions.
... Wabash is getting there and will get there.  Great seniors we lose.  Great Juniors, Sophs, Frosh we have.  We will reload and also refill.  I still like the idea of good scholarship and good athletics.  This is not a comment aimed at Whitewater or MUC or anyone else in any way.  It is simply inwardly aimed.
... Come on NCAC ... all get it going.  What fun if it were a conference championship contest game every week.
... MUC may be good ... but Whitewater from what I saw (and difficult to really know in the conditions) will be there at the end and hopefully win.
... Like to play Whitewater again sometime soon ... but if we play there they must guarantee not to kill us ... fans and our team with snow, sleet, rain, cold, and everything else weather bad.
... AND ... you heard it here first ... wax on wax off ... the Little Giants will run the NCAC table next fall.  ...... And, if you don't feel that way about your team (although I am correct here), then you simply don't belong supporting your team.
... great year.  The Witt and Woo and Gheny and especially the OWU (they seem to always crank it up a couple of levels for us) games will be great ones again next year.

Congratulations to the Little Giants for a better season than expected (especially with an inexperienced QB).  Let's keep the positive momentum going, and bring home the Bell next year.

OK, I'm tired of the NCAC as currently constituted.  If I could wave a magic wand, my new conference would include the following:

Wabash
Wittenberg
Wooster
Ohio Wesleyan
Franklin
Hanover
DePauw
Mount St. Joseph
Defiance

Basically, the best from the NCAC, the best from the HCAC, and DePauw.  Allegheny could be added or swapped, but the distance is a negative for me.

These include teams that are currently good, or have been good in the recent past.  This also allows for two non-con games.  This schedule would do a better job of preparing the conference champ for a title run, and probably increase the odds of a Pool C bid.  It also potentially puts something extra on the line for the Bell game.

OK, that's my vent.

smedindy

You can't just make a conference for football, though. Plus, we got out of the Heartland because they decided to add schools like Defiance.

Personally, I love the NCAC. I wish Hiram and Earlham were better in athletics in general, but every other school has a niche somewhere.
