Beaver's story is what you want to show your kids, to let them see what is possible with hard work and great attitude.  Anybody know if his Gagliardi speech can be seen anywhere?
So far UWW is looking good.  But it is still a long way till the end of the game.

Watching Garcon, some things are apparent.  He seems to be a jerk with a big mouth.

More of the same that we've seen from Garcon in each of the last two Staggs.  The kid's an amazing player, but I wouldn't want him on my team.  A lot of the crap he pulls when the camera is on him is very un-Mount Union...very much not representative of the way Kehres' players typically conduct themselves.

We have decided to turn the volume down on TV and go with d3football stream.  They are flat out better and know their stuff.

I guess that is why they play the game!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Excellent assessment. Good athlete. DI ability. Very immature. I would say his immaturity is what will keep him from going farther. (willing to insert foot into mouth on this one) It appears that he does not always know what he needs to do to rise about quality defenders when he faces them. Partly due to MUC's dominance and partly due to self-absorbed attitude. Shame. He has ability... wonder if it will all come together for him. Should he go on, I think he will be cut down to size very quickly.

As for posts on the previous page - ND should not be able use the "moral high ground" argument. Based on speaking with people involved with the athletic department on more than a peripheral level, the same stunts are pulled there as on any other college campus. The majority are good athletes and good campus citizens, but just as with any team, there are plenty of those who conduct themselves in the most immoral of ways. I would almost guarantee that with the money thrown at Weiss, the school is willing to look the other way and even cover stuff up.
Plus, there is just as must alcohol, drugs and sex on that campus as anywhere else.

Great to see UW-W's surprise win over Mount last night!  UW-W's D brought it and I enjoyed watching ESPN's coverage.  The LB's were something else and flew all over the field.  Their key stops on 4th downs set the tone.  They rarely missed open field tackles.  I think #50 is better then Raebel and they are both studs.  White was a beast too on the front.  Wally & Co. - did you know that he is Temarco White's cousin?  Beaver & Jones were big time...  Beaver was a lot of fun to watch and he had some great runs.  How about the hit he put on #6 in the first half?  Loved it.

Anyone think there were some shaky no-calls, odd reviews, and some glaring bad calls?  Examples:  the GLARING hold on the UW-W defender on the 3rd & goal...rather then call that, they called UW-W for the facemask?  How about the long pass by Mount where the WR pushed off big time to make the catch (no call) - that had to be offensive pass interference, the ref was right there.  Why did they review a couple of the goal line plays?  That catch out of the endzone - where they reviewed but it wasn't even close??  The goal line review when the one official signaled TD (the kid's back was to the official?) and yet was a full foot from the goal line?  It was almost like they were too "gung ho" to review knowing it was the 1 game all year in D3 that would use the replay.

Congrats to the Warhawks!  They were the REAL DEAL.

Good assessment and comments.

Isn't it ironic,  the year Mount Union goes to the East bracket, they put a better team on top of the North  ;)

Did anyone else that watched that game really feel as though they were watching big time football;  the speed, the play calls, the defense etc.

Great game and Beaver is a great story.
Why should you go for it on 4th down?

There was nothing second-rate about the teams or the players in that game.  It was a nice representation of how far D3 football has come in the last 25 years or so!

Agreed . . . give me that game over almost any meaningless Division I bowl game . . . it is remarkable how both teams (but especially UW-W) maintained their focus and concentration, given the stakes they were playing for.  It's two days later, and I'm still hearing the "U-Dub-Dub" chant in my head.  :P

Those that have been watching these LB's every game this year know that most offenses set their game plans to avoid Raebel at all costs.  UWLC ran weak side probably 90% of the time and when they didn't, they payed dearly.  MUC ran away from him about 99% of the 4th quarter alone.  A big reason why comparing of stat lines between players is not enough to determine whose best especially between players who play different competition.  Rindahl has stepped up big time with this opportunity and had a great season in his first year as a full time starter.

Best part of the game was the shot of Beaver's grandparents cheering after his last long run.  Priceless!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Indeed...complete with a prima donna wide receiver that most big name teams seem to have.  :)

But seriously, it's easy to see why those two squads steamrolled through the playoffs on their way to the Stagg Bowl.  Both of those teams are huge and fast and the rest of D-III didn't stand much of a chance against them.

Why does it seem like the loudest mouths and the bigget show-offs seem to be wide recievers. (cinco Ocho, T.O. etc.)?
